We meet in 1998 in Chattanooga, TN, while attending high school. Even though we did a play together, neither Adam nor Shelby remembers each other, until they cross paths 20 years later in NYC.

In the fall of 2019, a mutual friend from high school sets us up. That matchmaker was on to something (Thanks, Monica!) - we click immediately over our shared love of bad puns & Dad jokes, the weird behavior of people in cults, Sturgill Simpson & Dire Straits, and living in Brooklyn.

One month in, Adam shares his passion for theater by inviting Shelby to see him perform in the BRUTES.

Six months in, we are going strong, and COVID strikes! We move in together mid-pandemic.

Shelby introduces Adam to biking and he is immediately hooked. We begin exploring NYC and beyond by bike - sometimes covering 40 miles or more!

First Anniversary! Who loves you, baby!

Our adventures continue! We explore upstate New York as the pandemic rages on.

Halloween in Chicago! One of many trips where we introduce each other to our friends in person.

Walking on that same Florida beach after Thanksgiving, Shelby mentions the blue/green hue of the ocean is her favorite color. Adam takes note as he is already planning to propose.

Unbeknownst to Shelby, Adam has acquired the ring; he's just waiting for the right moment to pop the question.

We love living in NYC - here we've biked out to Forest Hills Stadium in Queens to see one of our favorite bands, Lord Huron. As usual, Adam looks like he's planning something, but he hasn't proposed yet!

We get engaged on Shelby's birthday at the top of Monument Mountain! The Montana sapphire Adam chose matches Shelby's birthstone and her aforementioned favorite color.

Side note: Adam thought he was so clever, but anyone can see that perfect box shape in his pocket!

We expand our family by adopting our chiweenie, Rainey Marie, and quickly introduce her to our love of travel.

We travel to Saudi Arabia together with Adam's family to see where the Belvo's built their life from 1979-2009!

We continue to travel, but now with our little buddy Rainey in tow!
