Mehndi (Thursday 05/09/24)

- Smaller gathering of family and friends

- Bride gets her intricate henna done along with bridesmaids. Guests can also get simple designs done.

- Women's attire: light and flowy (skirts, pants, dresses, rompers), summer wedding guest attire, sundresses or traditional Indian clothing ex: Punjabi suit

-Men's tires: Jeans and a button up

Maiyan/Choora/Jago (Friday, 05/10/24)

- Maiyan: guests take turns rubbing a turmeric paste/dough on bride and groom

- Choora: the bride's maternal uncles gift her bangles she will wear on her wedding day

- Jago: a singing and dancing celebration of the wedding to come

-lunch and appetizers provided

- Women's Attire: semiformal or traditional Indian clothing brighter colors/saturated hues ex: lenghas

- Men's Attire: semiformal (button up and slacks) or traditional Indian clothing ex: kurta

*Note: If you're wanting to wear traditional clothing to one event, the sangeet would be the one for both men and women

Wedding (Saturday, 05/11/24)

- Baraat: grand entrance of the groom followed by his family and friends dancing around him

- Milni: the meeting of the parents

- Ceremony: guests will be seated on the ground with the bride and groom at the front

- Shagun: immediately after ceremony, cash is gifted to bride and groom by family and friends as token of good luck

- Lunch for everyone

- Women's Attire: modest/conservative dress, neutral colors or pastels (thicker straps, modest necklines, approximately knee length dresses, something you can sit comfortably on the ground in) semiformal attire or traditional clothing ex: Punjabi suit

-Note: Upon entering the temple, shoes are put away, head scarves and bandanas will be provided to you to wear for the duration of the ceremony

Reception (Sunday, 05/12/24)

- Cocktail hour

- Speeches

- Attire: formal attire or fanciest indian traditional clothing
