Jarred really out-did himself with this proposal. Jarred and our two friends, Lacey &amp; Taylor, insisted that we hike a 14er on 8.22.21. I was super tired after attending a silent retreat (long story) and I really didn't want to go hiking. I was in the world's worst mood the entire morning of the hike (oops). I even told Jarred, "I'm only doing this because I love you, but I really want to turn back right now." I was 1000% surprised at the top of the peak. It was magical for so many reasons - our other friend, Kate, who hiked with us, also didn't know it was happening &amp; she cried with me, there was almost no one on the peak with us (which is very odd for a Colorado 14er), and we had a surprisingly clear day during a hazy Colorado summer! Turns out that Jarred even flew to South Carolina while I was at the silent retreat to surprise my dad and ask for his blessing (talk about overachiever). Jarred also almost blew his cover by leaving his boarding passes on his nightstand (who even prints those any more); I even remember tidying up those boarding passes earlier that week and didn't even notice or question them at the time (absolutely oblivious). Long story short though, Shelly was no longer in a bad mood and obviously said YES!

Nicole and Shelly have been best friends since 6th grade, but more importantly, she is the sister that Shelly never had. They've been through it all together - from middle school to heartbreaks to long-distance friendships! 

Nicole lives in Greenville, SC near the mountains with her hubby, dogs, cat, and chickens.

Madeline and Shelly met at the University of South Carolina. Shelly is technically Madeline's "big" from the service sorority they were in (something they are not proud of), but luckily they became besties! Madeline is a world traveller, but she has recently settled down in Tulsa, Oklahoma pursuing her entrepreneurial dreams.

Shelly and Blythe survived Catholic school together, always being separated by teachers for having too much fun. They were both voted "best sense of humor" in high school (our only claim to fame). They made the best memories doing theater together. Blythe is the best hype woman a girl could ask for. Blythe lives in Greenville, SC with her adorable son, Maddox!

Kelsey was Shelly's co-worker and roommate while she was in grad school at UofSC. They instantly clicked and were inseparable ever since. Kelsey and her now husband, Ryan, gave Shelly & Jarred some of their favorite memories in Columbia, SC. Kelsey also taught Shelly how to dress herself (thanks, girl) and how to overcome the hard stuff.  Kelsey and Ryan live in Indiana with their sweet baby girl, Madelyn, and 2 doggos.

Chrissy was Shelly's boss at the University of South Carolina. Not only did they bond over their passion for fitness, but they also shared the same ridiculous sense of humor and chaotic energy.  There have been many "laugh until you pee" moments between these two. Chrissy lives in Virginia with her hubby and her kitties and pigs!

Shelly and Lesley went to grad school together at UofSC. They quickly became travel buddies and always share their big dreams with each other. They started a wellness business and now host international yoga retreats together. Lesley lives in Charleston, SC with her hubby and 3 kitties!

Renee is the beautiful sister of the groom! She is thankful that her baby brother found someone who can put up with him. ;) Shelly is grateful to gain such a sweet sister that is always down for an adventure  and visits CO often. Plus, Renee is Dash's favorite!

Vic and Jarred have been best friends since they met at the University of Toledo in their fraternity. Most of their memories are not website appropriate, but they have shared some wholesome memories together like, traveling across the country to Alaska & Jarred standing as Vic's best man in his wedding too! Vic lives in Toledo, OH  with his beautiful wife, Sarah.

What Shelly didn't realize when first beginning to date Jarred is he comes with some extra baggage that will never leave his side...aka the "Red Squad". This group of friends all get the same paragraph because all 4 of them have the same story because they've always been together since before middle school. You have Cody; the dad of the group. Tristan, Mr. G.I. Joe; Danny is our Rave Daddy; and Darin, our Korean hypeman to make our group inclusive.

They spent their younger years fighting because Shelly was a whiney little sister, but they've since gotten over that and love each other! Please reserve your room at one of these two hotels below. Shuttle transportation will be provided to/from the wedding on Saturday from both of these hotels. As a reminder, there is no parking available at the venue, so please plan to take the group shuttle even if you don't plan to stay at these hotels.

Springhill Suites is located just a short drive from Downtown Golden, an area packed with small town charm and local hot spots like Windy Saddle Café, Woody’s Pizza, and Miners Saloon. It's a 30 minute drive to the wedding venue. Guests that select to stay with this hotel will receive the discounted rate of $125 (King) or $135 (Two Queen) +TAX along with free parking, free daily breakfast, free WiFi, and access to the on-site amenities such as pool and fitness center.

There are SO many places to hike and get outside, but here are a couple of our favorites that are nearby: - <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/the-brother-and-sisters-loop" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Brother &amp; Sisters Loop </a>- a fairly early 3-mile easy hike in Evergreen with beautiful views!- <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/evergreen-mountain-trail" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Evergreen Mountain Trail</a> - a moderate 4-mile hike tucked in the dense forest of Evergreen with some stunning overlooks! Worth the climb!- <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/elk-meadow" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Elk Meadow</a> - an easy leisurely 4-mile nature trail in Evergreen! No elk are guaranteed, but if you do see them, do not pet. :)- <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/st-mary-s-glacier" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">St. Mary's Glacier</a> - an out-of-towner favorite. It's a short 2.5-mile hike to a beautiful lake &amp; glacier. Moderate difficulty with a rocky terrain, so make sure you have some solid shoes. Located near Idaho Springs (about a 45-minute drive from Denver).

Get Outside. Take a Hike. 

Visit one of the most popular concert venues in the world! If you don't have time for a concert during your visit, it's also a park! You can hike some trails nearby or you can walk through the amphitheater for free - it's open to the public in the mornings/afternoons before their events start.

Georgetown Loop Railroad

Enjoy a beautiful drive in the mountains through aspen groves. This pass has some tight turns, so drive slowly and carefully. It is approximately 22 miles long and usually great for catching the beautiful Colorado colors. This pass connects interstate I70 and Highway 285 between Georgetown and Grant, CO.
