In August of 2019, Shelly and Alexsia crossed paths thinking it would be the first and last time. Little did they know that seven months later, the pandemic would reunite them. What began as a professional partnership, quickly bloomed into a meaningful friendship, and ultimately, an inevitable love story. What made this connection even deeper was the special bond formed between Shelly and Donovan. This family of three have enjoyed growing through faith, love, and laughter. One of the most significant parts of their story includes those who have loved and supported them on their journey. They are excited to begin this next chapter alongside their loved ones in celebration of their wedding.

Julie and Shelly started as wombmates and have remained extremely close throughout the years. Anyone who has met the Santa Cruz twins know that they always bring the party. Julie's generous heart and room-filling laughter is what makes her everyone's favorite person to meet. She has also been supportive of Alexsia and Shelly's relationship since the beginning because her twin intuition always knew Alexsia was the one. Shelly cannot be happier to have her twinner walking her down the aisle on the special day.

Marissa and Alexsia met in the fourth grade, but Marissa moved away by the following school year. In high school, when Alexsia went to get her first job at Coldstone Creamery, there Marissa was, scooping ice cream. Reunited and besties ever since!! Marissa has been like a sister with all the love and support one could ever ask for. It is an honor to have her be apart of this love story.

Alexsia's 12 year old son and Shelly's #1 fan will be 'our best guy'.  When he heard we were together he said, "I like Shelly, she makes my life better!"

Donovan 

Logan is Alexsia's younger brother and dear friend. He has been loving and supportive of Alexsia and Shelly throughout their entire relationship. Shelly and Logan have developed a special bond over the past few years together and share many laughs. We can't wait to see the petals he's pushin'!

Demus and Leah are Alexsia's youngest siblings (12 years old)! Smart, athletic, cute, and funny, the twins are bound to steal some hearts at the wedding. Their relationship with their big sister is pure love and they always have a blast with their nephew, Donovan. Full of spunk, these two will make their way down the aisle with the rings to support us on our special day.

Humberto is everyone’s “Mijo,” who is loved by all.  Humberto and Shelly formed an immediate familial connection and have been close for almost 2 decades. Alexsia and Humberto have formed their own bond and we cannot wait for Humberto to marry us on our special day.

This is the airport you will fly into! Be prepared for a long line at customs since this is a hot spot for tourists. Be sure to check the list of items you cannot bring through customs (ie. fruits/veggies or $10,000 for you big spenders lol).

Cancún International Airport

This service can provide a shuttle to the port (Puerto Juarez) and a ticket for the ferry to Isla Mujeres. People at the airport will try to talk to you and offer help, just keep walking, they want to take your business. Happy Shuttle provides detailed instructions on how to find them at the airport. Make sure they hand you your ferry tickets before you board the shuttle. If you are planning to stay on the island for the duration of your trip, they can help you with a return service as well. However, many people may want to spend some time in Cancún. In that case, it's easy enough to purchase a ferry ticket at the port on the island and find a cab to your next destination on the mainland.*** Please be aware that SOME hotels help with booking this type of transportation***

Happy Shuttle Cancun

This is one of the main ferry options from Puerto Juarez to Isla Mujeres. It is a quick 20 minute ride, offering drinks and snacks with a rooftop seating option for a beautiful view. It is a large ferry with many passengers. You could purchase ferry tickets through them if you prefer using a taxi to get from the airport to the port. Ferry Ticket Price: Approx. $12 USD (one way)**Tickets sold online or at Puerto Juarez**

This is our TOP recommendation of places to stay on the island. You need to call, send a WhatsApp message, or send an email to set up booking. Be sure to let them know that you are booking for Shelly &amp; Alexsia's August Wedding Stay. This will ensure you a 10% discount (as long as 5 rooms are booked from our party). There are only 13 rooms available in this hotel, so book ASAP so you don't miss out on an amazing and affordable place to stay. There are an array of options from a standard room to a two bedroom apartment available here. You could share an apartment with some friends if you like. It is located in between our wedding venue location and the main center/beaches. The staff is amazing, great food/drinks, ocean and pool access, and a beautiful view. Please let us know if you plan on booking here so we can ensure you are on our list. They require a 25% deposit to reserve your stay which you can pay without a fee by wiring the funds, or you can use a card or PayPal with an additional fee.*** Ask for Francisco, he speaks English and Spanish and is super helpful. He works 3pm-11pm Mexico time.***Also, the dates of your stay are flexible to book here, we just noted the dates we are planning to be on the island.***

This is next door to Bahia Tolok. It is a bit more affordable with less bells and whistles and only 5 rooms on the property. It has a bar, restaurant, dock, and 24 - hour pool. If you're looking for a chill vibe with live music every evening, this is your spot! You can book online with travel websites, but you'll get a better rate if you book through them directly.

Skull's Landing

ADDITIONAL LODGING INFORMATION There are so many places to stay on the Island and Cancún. Hotel Bahia Tolok and Skulls Landing are central waterfront locations that allow you to move around the island pretty quickly. If you would rather stay in a location that is lively with walking access to the beaches and center with many restaurants and bars, the north side of the island offers many hotels such as:Hotel Cabañas María Del Mar.Rate: Approx. $110 - $179 per night.Website: cabanasmariadelmar.com Searching for a calm, relaxing stay on the island surrounded by nature? The south side of the island is the perfect place to be. TRANSPORTATION ON THE ISLAND Isla Mujeres is a beautiful island stretching about 5 miles long and .5 miles wide. It is easily possible to circle the island in a day. There are a few ways to get around on the island. Walking is the main way to go if you are spending most of your vacation on the north side of the island. Everything here is close together and easily walkable. Taxis are a quick and easy way to get around the island. There are always plenty of them driving around, day and night. They range from about $5 - $10 USD per ride, depending how far you are traveling on the island. Another great way to get around, if you plan on doing lots of exploring, is by Golf Cart. There are several Golf Carts Rental Companies on the island and this is certainly the way to go if you plan to move around quite a bit. See some rental options below.

This golf cart company is located at Hotel Cabañas María Del Mar. You could quickly get to this location in a taxi to rent your golf cart. Prices: 1 hr - $17 USD8 hrs - $55 USD24 hrs - $65 USD

This place is located about a block south of the ferry, so you could easily just turn right after exiting the port and find this spot to your left.
