Sherwin and Ilan met on November 20th, 2016 in Downtown Decatur, Georgia. Having originally met each other online, Sherwin was a little nervous and Ilan was a lot nervous for their first date. But after learning about their mutual appreciation for food, cocktails, and museums, they agreed to a second date ... and a third ... and a fourth!

Ilan moved to Long Island, New York in July 2017 for his fellowship. For six long months Sherwin and Ilan traveled back-off-forth between New York and Georgia every few weeks.

On a cold November evening in Manhattan, over a candlelit dinner, Ilan proposed to Sherwin and she said yes!
