🧭 Arriving in Jodhpur


By Air ✈️

Jodhpur has its own domestic airport (JDH) located just 5 km from the city center. It’s well-connected to major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Udaipur.


From Delhi: Daily direct flights take about 1 hour 20 minutes (operated by IndiGo, Air India, and Vistara).

From Mumbai: About 1.5 hours, with multiple daily options.


🚆 By Train – Scenic and Comfortable

If you’d like to experience India’s railways, the train journey from Delhi to Jodhpur is an excellent option — comfortable, safe, and a great way to see the changing desert landscape.


Key Trains from Delhi to Jodhpur:

Mandore Express (12461) – Night departure (~9:15 PM), arrives Jodhpur around 8:00 AM.

Suryanagari Express (12480) – Late-night departure (~10:30 PM), arrives around 8:00 AM.

Delhi Sarai Rohilla - Jodhpur SF Express (22482) - Late night departure (~ 11:00 PM), arrives around 9:40 AM.


Key Train from Jodhpur to Delhi:

Salasar SF Express (22422) - Morning departure (~11:10 AM), arrives in Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 10:25 PM on the same day.


🛏️ Tip: Book AC 1-tier (1A) or AC 2-tier (2A) for a comfortable overnight journey. Bedding is provided on all air-conditioned coaches.

🎟️ Tickets: Can be booked on www.irctc.co.in or through apps like MakeMyTrip or Ixigo.

🚉 Stations: Trains depart from Delhi Junction (DLI), Old Delhi Railway Station, and Delhi Sarai Rohilla (DEE). They arrive at Jodhpur Junction (JU) in the city center.

Many guests choose the overnight train — you sleep comfortably, and wake up to the golden dunes of Rajasthan!


🚗 By Road – A Desert Drive to Remember

For those who love a good road trip, traveling from Delhi to Jodhpur by car is a memorable experience through Rajasthan’s heartland.

Distance: ~620 km

Driving Time: 10–11 hours (depending on stops and traffic)

Best Route:

Delhi → Gurgaon → Behror → Jaipur → Ajmer → Beawar → Jodhpur

This is the NH48 + NH25 route — a smooth, well-maintained highway with plenty of pit stops.


Recommended Stops:

Neemrana Fort Palace (2 hours from Delhi) – for breakfast or coffee.

Ajmer or Pushkar – great for lunch or a quick sightseeing detour.

Beawar – ideal for refueling and stretch breaks.


Travel Options:

Private Car Hire: You can book a chauffeur-driven car via Savaari, Ola Outstation, or Rajputana Cabs.

Luxury Buses: Multiple Volvo and sleeper buses operate daily from Delhi to Jodhpur (RedBus and ZingBus are reliable platforms). Overnight options depart Delhi around 9–10 PM and arrive by 7–8 AM.

Self-Drive: If you’re comfortable driving long distances, the route is scenic and safe, with plenty of highway amenities.


🌎 For Guests Traveling from Edmonton


Best Route:

Edmonton → Delhi (Indira Gandhi International Airport – DEL): Direct or one-stop flights via Air Canada, KLM, British Airways, or Lufthansa (approx. 18–22 hours total travel time).

Delhi → Jodhpur: Once in Delhi, take a direct domestic flight to Jodhpur (about 1 hour 20 minutes).

💼 Travel Tips

Currency: Indian Rupee (₹) — ATMs are widely available, and most hotels/shops accept cards.

Weather: January in Jodhpur is pleasantly cool — 20–26°C during the day, 8–12°C at night. Perfect for outdoor celebrations!
