What is the best way to get to South Lake Tahoe?
If you’re flying, your best options are Reno or Sacramento; both are about the same drive to South Lake.
Renting a car is probably the easiest way to get around, but if you’re flying into Reno and staying near our reception venue, there’s also a shuttle you can take to skip the driving.
For our San Diego crew, it’s roughly a 10-hour road trip, but having your own car might be nice for exploring while you’re here!
Where should we stay?
We will be booking a block of rooms with a discounted rate at Margaritaville (details in the Hotel tab of this website), if you would like to stay there with us! If not, there are plenty of hotels nearby, some even within walking distance! You’ll also find lots of great Airbnbs and VRBOs in the area.
We recommend staying close if you can, unless you have a car and don’t mind a little driving to and from the fun. The venue offers valet parking at a discounted rate.
What is the best way to get to the venue?
We recommend Ubering to and from the venue if you are not staying close by so you can fully enjoy the party.
If you are driving, valet parking is available on-site!
How will we get from the ceremony site to the reception space?
Our ceremony will be on the beach in South Lake Tahoe, and our reception will be back at the hotel. They are about a half a mile apart, a 13-minute walk. There is extremely limited parking at the beach due to the fact that it is a public beach. We will have a shuttle that takes people back to the hotel after the ceremony. But if you're willing and able to walk back, you'll probably make it to the bar fastest!
What is the attire?
We’re going for formal resort wear.
For the guys, dress slacks or linen pants with a button-down or linen shirt, with a sport coat optional (no jeans, please).
For the ladies, long or midi dresses are ideal.
We’re celebrating at Margaritaville, so feel free to embrace fun colors and tropical vibes!
Please skip the shorts and flip-flops, but cowboy boots are absolutely welcome.
The ceremony will be outdoors, followed by an indoor reception, so dress comfortably for both sunshine and dancing.
Can I bring kids?
We love your little ones! Our celebration is primarily adults-only so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. That said, if your invitation includes your children, they are of course welcome to join.
Can I bring a date?
Your invitation will indicate whether a plus-one has been included. If you're unsure, please don't hesitate to reach out!
