Q + A

Let's be real. The main question every one wants to know is, will you have an open bar?

Of course it's an open bar! HOWEVER, IT WILL BE CLOSED FOR 30 MINUTES WHILE YOU FIND YOUR SEAT & DURING INTRODUCTIONS. We know y'all can drink, so drinks are on us but the hangover is all on you.

Where should we book our hotel?

Totally up to you! We tried to offer hotel blocks at different price points but we know that Canandaigua during the 4th of July weekend is $$$. Please feel free to use our hotel blocks provided, Airbnb, a friend's couch, etc. Wherever you are comfortable, we just want you to make it!

When should we arrive to town?

With it being a long holiday weekend, feel free to come as early as you want! Most out of towners arrive Friday-Sunday; however, if you have Thursday off and want to experience the 4th of July in Canandaigua, come on up! We would love to spend as much time with y'all as possible.

What about transportation?

There will be a shuttle from Hotel Canandaigua to the Canandaigua Country Club running from 2:00pm-4:00pm and after the wedding starting 8:30pm-10:30pm. Guests may also drive themselves! Please use the address provided on the home page to get to the ceremony. There is plenty of parking. If you are driving, there is a newly constructed ONE WAY LANE over the bridge (closer to Muar Street) on Lakeshore Drive to get to the hotel. You can bypass the bridge going eastbound on route 5&20, taking a right on E Lake Rd and a right on Lakeshore Drive.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Yes. For your convenience and not having to drive all over town, our venue will have the ceremony occurring literally right to the side of the reception barn. Not much walking included, flat ground, and on the water.

What's the dress code?

Although the bride and groom always strive for the comfort of their sweats, please do not show up in them. The attire is semi-formal/cocktail. No, you do not have to show up in your fanciest ballgown or suit and tie. You do not have to avoid a certain color (maybe except white but you know that). Men can opt out of a tie if they choose but a button up of some sort is preferred. Ladies you can wear a sundress/cocktail dress, jumpsuit, etc. We do not care what shoes you wear because hopefully they'll be coming off on the dance floor. :)

Is this an indoor/outdoor venue?

The ceremony will occur uncovered under the sun and blue clear skies adjacent to the barn (let us all manifest this, thanks). The reception will be in the barn which is covered by a roof; however, the garage doors will all be pulled open to allow the breeze in. Please refer to venue's photo gallery on their website for visual aid.

What if it rains?

We would prefer you not think so negatively, but in the event of inclement weather the ceremony and reception will both be held in the barn.

What will seating be like at the wedding?

The bride and groom have grouped each party at their respective table as best as they could to ensure you're not eating with strangers. The seating chart will be posted at the wedding which you can access during cocktail hour to see what table your party is at. What seat you take, is totally up to you!

Can I bring my kids?

If the child is listed on the RSVP, they can be present at the wedding! That being said, if you would rather leave them with grandparents to let loose and enjoy the night, we encourage that too! We will not be hiring a babysitter for your kids. I will also make note that there is no fence between the venue and the lake if you're little one is on the move. On the other hand, if your child was not listed on your RSVP as a party member then they were not invited. We do apologize for the inconvenience. We still love them!

Buffet or Plated Dinner?

Buffet style baby. Save room for dessert too!

What if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?

We would love to accommodate you! When you RSVP, please let us know who in your party and the particular restriction, so we can pass along to our caterer!

There's a putting green right next to the venue! Can we use it?

Unfortunately no. We were asked specifically by the Country Club to ensure our guests don't try to use the putting green.
