Simon & Sherry fell in love with the city's art, live music, swimming holes, charm, progressive values and bats. They first visited Austin to see Tame Impala battle it out with Guns & Roses at Austin City Limits, which was a show they will never forget. Zilker Park hosts many musical festivals and is something to experience. Over the years they have returned several times with William & Stella to see live music, art exhibitions and enjoy the food, sun and swimming.

During their first visit to the Sculpture Garden, both Simon & Sherry silently believed that if they were to ever marry, this would be the place. Something they revealed to each other on the night of their engagement:) And here we are...

We have stayed in multiple parts of the city which is very safe. Our favourite neighbourhoods are Zilker and Barton Hills areas. They have excellent walking proximity to Barton Springs, BBQ, and downtown. You can walk downtown within 25m. It is a beautiful walk along the water with pedestrian bridges. Check out the travel section for some recommendations.

We have no idea! It is frustrating. Our thesis is that the tourism boom has resulted in the price surge. Flights to San Antonio are significantly less expensive. San Antonio is roughly a one hour drive from Austin (requiring you to rent a car or take an Uber). However, you may have to take one or two stops there. You can fly non-stop to Austin.
