Solange and Erick’s story began just like many teenage romances do—in high school. Their first connection? None other than MySpace (yes, really). If you're under 25, you might have to Google that one. A shoutout to Tom—everyone’s first friend—for unintentionally introducing them. Solange was passionate and determine, with a natural eye for what she wanted and an academic brilliance that hinted at her future as a teacher. Erick, carefree and social, was always chasing adventure and connection—fitting for someone who’d later find a home in advertising. Early on, Erick asked Solange a question that would become the quiet heartbeat of their relationship: “Will you be my penguin?” A nod to the belief that when penguins find their mate, they stay together for life. It was a playful, tender way to say: you’re my forever. High school brought shared laughter, learning, and just the right amount of growing up. Through college and the start of their adult lives, their bond only deepened. Whether emotionally, academically, or even financially, they stood by one another—an unshakable team navigating the journey together. Years later, in the heart of New York City beneath the lights of Rockefeller Center, Erick dropped to one knee and asked, once again, “Will you be my penguin?”—this time followed by the words: “Will you marry me?” The answer, of course, was a joyful yes. And now here you are, reading their story—one that began then, continues now, and promises to endure always.
