It all started in college while Sonia was living alone, unsupported and stressing out trying to make all her ends meet, until one day, her car broke down. She was having to get rides to classes, work and around Houston, little did she know during this time, she would meet her connection to Adrian. 

Adrian, during this time, was working a line job and was slightly new to Houston. He was looking for friends, things to do and to get out into new activities. Neither of them had a clue each-other existed and were going through their own problems. But magically, a chain of events happened so effortlessly that was out of their control that led them to meeting, and as the saying goes - “When you know, you know.”

“It was spring semester 2023 in a math class, I didn’t know anyone in there and no one ever really talked besides a little group in the back. Someone had dropped me off in the evening to the class but I still needed a ride back and couldn’t really afford an Uber. I awkwardly stood up in the beginning of class and said “HELLO. [long pause] Would somebody be able to take me home today…”, the room was quiet and everyone looked at me like I was crazy. I was about to sit back down and maybe just try to walk home until a single girl said “I can take you home…?” and she did just that. Her name was Vanessa and when she dropped me off she let me know she had brothers that owed her favors she was also overly sincere to me, I guess she understood my struggle. But, from then on we became friends and even took another math class together the following semester. She kept telling me about her younger brother and how I should date him, I always declined. He looked far too good for me. That was, until months later, where we met in person at a little party in my apartment where him and I have been bonded ever since.” - Sonia
