The Dallas Arboretum is proud to offer the public an array of popular annual events, educational programs for children and adults, and an emphasis on family-oriented activities. Ground-breaking horticultural research conducted in our Trial Gardens continues to contribute to an important body of knowledge, both regionally and nationally.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

Established in 1903, the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) is among the 10 largest art museums in the country and is distinguished by its commitment to research, innovation and public engagement. At the heart of the Museum and its programs is its global collection, which encompasses more than 24,000 works and spans 5,000 years of history, representing a full range of world cultures. Located in the nation’s largest arts district, the Museum acts as a catalyst for community creativity, engaging people of all ages and backgrounds with a diverse spectrum of programming, from exhibitions and lectures to concerts, literary events, and dramatic and dance presentations. Since the Museum’s return to free general admission in 2013, the DMA has welcomed more 3.2 million visitors.

Dallas Museum of Art

The Dallas World Aquarium has expanded to include numerous thrilling tropical and underwater exhibits that offer something for both kids and adults. Visit Mundo Maya for a glimpse of flamingos, ocelots, and tree frogs, go under the sea in the aquarium to witness creatures likes jellyfish and electric eels in their natural habitat, and trek through a recreation of a Cloud Forest, including everyone’s favorite sleepy sloths. Three restaurants make it easy to grab lunch during a full day of exploring.

The Dallas World Aquarium

At the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, you can race a&nbsp;T. rex, challenge friends in robot competitions, explore the astonishing links between dinosaurs and modern-day birds, experience a simulated earthquake, journey through the universe, and test what it means to “be human”. Everything from dinosaurs to DNA to diamonds are packed into five levels of hands-on discovery and adventure.&nbsp;

Open 7 days a week 10am-7pm. &nbsp;26,000 square foot food hall and artisanal vendor market containing four anchor restaurants, a mixture of local specialty foods, artisanal food vendors, and seating areas both inside and out where you can grab a bite to eat or enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in a view of the Dallas skyline or observing the market-goers.

Her Story:I had moved to Houston, and my then roommate now best friend brought up going to a football game with some people she knew in high school. I tagged along, but was very shy and didn't know anyone in the group. Sedi made it a point to make sure I was included; he peeked past someone to ask me my opinion on the topic. After that I knew I at least wanted to be his friend; we had a theater class together and I made sure to stay after class to get his number. Instead of giving me his number right away he walked with me back to the dorms, and we planned to go to a play together. A month later he asked me to be his girlfriend, and the rest history! His Story:We met through a mutual friend. At our first meeting I came to Sophia's dorm to see her and our mutual friend so we could go to a football game together. When our mutual friend opened the door and introduced me to Sophia, I remember thinking that she was beautiful I would love to get to know her more. She was shy at first but slowly warmed up to me as the day progressed. She left the game early and I remember thinking that I wish I could talk to her more. But as fate would have it we were already in a class together that would meet the Monday after that first encounter. After class we saw each other and walked back to the freshmen dorms together (In my head I'm thinking GREAT now I will see her at least once a week.). We exchanged numbers and over the next few weeks spent more and more time together! I asked her if she would be my girlfriend and she said 'YES'. And that is only the beginning.
