The Downtown Farmers' Market takes place every Saturday, from 7 am to 12 pm. This event is a great opportunity to try the best of local food, produce, and wine across Iowa. There are also several vendors selling their goods and talented artists providing live entertainment.

The John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park is a 4.4-acre park with 28 unique sculptures to see. It is considered one of the most significant collections of outdoor sculptures in the United States. If you are in the mood for a nice stroll, you should definitely check it out!

The Des Moines Art Center has amassed a collection of art from the 19th century to the present, with a major emphasis on contemporary art. It includes major works by Henry Ossawa Tanner, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Francis Bacon, among hundreds of others. It is also free admission!
