I've never been to a Catholic Mass before. What should I expect?

We are so excited to welcome you into the Catholic church for the first time and we are honored that you are joining us to witness the sacrament of Holy Matrimony! Mass usually lasts about an hour, but you should expect it to last a little longer due to the extra wedding blessings. The main parts of the Mass include the Liturgy of the Word (readings from the Old and New Testament, as well as the Gospel), the wedding vows, and the Liturgy of the Eucharist (Communion). For those who are worried about when to sit/stand, don't worry! You can just follow those around you. :-) As Catholics, we believe that the Eucharist (the bread and wine), are truly the Body and Blood of Christ. With that being said, if you are not Catholic or in a state to receive, as others are going up to receive Communion, you can either stay seated in your pew or come forward with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing - neither is viewed as better than the other! Just do what you are most comfortable with.

When is the deadline to RSVP?

We would appreciate all RSVPs no later than April 5th, due to a catering deadline. If you have any concerns, please contact the bride at 208-477-4997.

Are children welcome to attend?

Yes! Just please be sure to let us know ages, food preferences, or any other pertinent information so we can prepare to make sure they enjoy themselves as well!

What is the dress code?

We would appreciate a dress code of semi-formal or "dressy casual". Please keep in mind that the ceremony is happening within the Catholic church, so modest wear is recommended.

Accessibility

All areas of the church and reception venue are wheelchair/scooter friendly!

Will the reception be indoors or outdoors?

The main reception hall is indoors, however there is a covered patio area as well.

Can I bring a date/ +1?

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. We appreciate your understanding and cannot wait to celebrate with you!

Will parking be an issue?

Not at all! Plenty of parking.

What should we do between the ceremony and reception?

We apologize for the odd time gap! It's just how things worked out - and we will be using this time to take photos. Bardenay is a nice restaurant that is close to the reception venue, and it is a great place to get an app and drinks if you'd like! There's also the Village, which is very fun to walk around, window shop, and people watch (check Things To Do section). There is also a bowling alley - Big Al's - in the Village as well, if you'd like more of an activity to pass the time. Or, take some time to yourself to nap or freshen up back at your hotel/AirBnB! We look forward to seeing you again for drinks, dinner, and dancing!

If I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

We are happy to answer any questions! Please feel free to text Sophia (208.477.4997) or Joey (262.247.6977).
