The best zoo in the country! The Henry Doorly Zoo is well worth a visit while you're in Omaha and it's an easy 10 minute Uber or 20 minute bus ride from the hotels in the Hot Shops area.
Also within a quick Uber or bus ride of the wedding venue. Lauritzen has lovely indoor and outdoor gardens.
The Gene Leahy Mall is a nice place to kill some time before or after dinner in the Old Market (if you decided to go to that area). It's a bit of a hike from the wedding venue, but if the weather is nice you'll get to see a good bit of downtown Omaha. Enjoy the river walk, sit on the row of porch swings, or take your chances on the slides (they go FAST).

Blatt Beer & Table*
One of our very favorite restaurants in Omaha. Amazing beer selection and fantastic food. We like the burger, chicken and waffles, and the Indian spiced chargrilled chicken sandwich. Sit at the bar for better service if there are only a couple of you.

Dolomiti Pizzeria & Enoteca*
1105 N. 13th St.
Fantastic pizza and sandwiches made with local ingredients in Northern Italian styles. Some of the best Italian food we've had outside of Italy.
Block 16 (5 minute drive or Uber)
1611 Farnam St.
James Beard semi-finalists and on multiple "best burger" lists (the "Croque Garcon" is Alton Brown's favorite burger in the country). Heavy use of local ingredients and Belgian inspiration. We recommend the Duck Duck Goose fries, the Dragon Wrap, and the Three Happiness Burger.
Lunch gets pretty busy, so plan to stand in line and wait a while!
Dessert (the most important meal of the day)
Coneflower Creamery*
1241 Millwork Ave.
The best ice cream in the country (according to Yelp)
If you don't do dairy, their non-dairy ice cream is exceptional (as are all their flavors). We recommend the tart cherry crumble, the dark chocolate, and/or the golden milk flavors.
