There are regular flights to Zakynthos from all major UK airports. In our experience the cheapest flight prices are with Easyjet and Jet2 and we recommend booking early to get the best prices. As a rough guide flights typically cost between £200-300 return.

Flights via Athens
You also have the option to fly to Athens, then take a regional flight from Athens to Zakynthos with SKY express or Olympic. There is one or more flights from Athens every day. This is likely the best option if you are travelling from outside Europe or UK.
Bus & Ferry via Athens
There is no direct ferry from Zante to Athens but you can combine a bus & ferry. This costs €37 and takes about 6 hours (1.5 hours ferry Zante > Kyllini and 4 hour bus Kyllini > Athens). There are usually 3 buses a day. The ferry to Kyllini leaves from Zante town which is 15 mins from the Windmill Hotel. Athens public transport & metro is very good and easy, so no issue on the other side. None of my family have done this route so cannot vouch for it, but some helpful resources to help you better plan below:

Flights via Kefalonia
It's also possible to combine a trip with Kefalonia. There is a direct ferry from Zakynthos which takes about 1.5 hours. Note the direct ferry to Kefalonia leaves from the north of the island which is an hour from Windmill Studios and a €40 taxi. There is an indirect ferry from Zante town.
The hotel is a 15 minute drive from the airport. We'd recommend getting a taxi from outside departures, which should cost around EUR15. Standard taxi fares are posted on boards by the taxi stand at the airport.
Public buses run in summer a few times a day from Argassi to Zante town and to the Vasilikos beaches in the other direction. A beach bus runs from Argassi to Banana beach in Vasilikos which is free if you buy something from the beach bars. There is also a tourist train that makes a scenic trip from Argassi resort to Zante town.
Other than this, taxis are the best way to get around and are relatively inexpensive (€10-15) for short trips, such as to / from Zante town or local beaches. The two Windmill hotels have their own taxi with driver who can be booked in reception. See below to get an idea of taxi rates:

We will be providing transportation from the hotel to the wedding venue on Saturday and Friday's venue is a 5 min walk from the Windmill Hotels, but if you would like to explore the island outside of that then hiring a car is a great way to do it.
Car hire is available at the airport and there are numerous car hire companies in all the major resorts. If you decide to book a hire car on arrival, the Windmill Bay receptionists will be able to help you make a booking with the hotel's hire car partner. Alternatively, there are several car hire businesses a few minutes walk from the hotels in Argassi resort.
