5) Eagle Lake Trail. 1.8-mile out-and-back trail near South Lake Tahoe, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 57 min to complete. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. This route is short and easy enough for the whole family. There is something for everyone here; waterfalls, creeks, lakes, granite peaks, and lush vegetation. Keep in mind that the trail is rocky in sections and there are some steep stairs to ascend and descend.
