Our Wedding

Just Best Friends in Love

When you fall in love with your best friend, everything just comes together. From our first date on a golf course at midnight to our engagement on the beaches of Carlsbad, our relationship has always had one theme running through it; we have been and will always be best friends. Our story began when we snuck onto a golf course in the middle of the night. On that night, Spencer saw Jordan running in the moonlight and said to himself "I'm going to marry that girl". Spencer had to go back to Whitworth the next day; little did he know Jordan was determined to come with him. On a family trip to Mexico the spring after that first date, Spencer and Jordan shared their first kiss. Jordan dropped a major bomb; she was going to Whitworth too! They said their "I love you's" to each other that summer before college, where they grew in love and friendship for the next four years with countless late study nights, fun day trips, and food runs. That brings us too today. Jordan said yes on the beaches of Carlsbad (her favorite place), and now we're now waiting to get married and start our life together. We're so excited for our wedding and cannot wait to see you all there!

Maddy is a ray of sunshine and will constantly keep you on your toes.  Maddy and Jordan are sisters but even better friends. She and Jordan have spent countless nights laughing, Disney movie watching, and finding new adventures. Currently, she is attending Cedarville University for Nursing and loves to go on fun trips, exercise, and hangout with her good friends! Be sure to ask her about her and Jordan's crazy beach days, late night park excursions, and snow cone runs!

Madison Johnson

Alternate Ego: Rapunzel from Tangled.

Ally is Jordan's sister but they've been best buds since she was born. From hanging out at the beach, hiking, boating, and never ending conversations about Disney, Ally and Jordan always have so much fun. Ally is currently graduating high school this spring and will be attending Cedarville University for Nursing this fall. She always has a great story and is the best person to go on adventures with.  Ask her about all of her and Jordan's constant schemes to go on more Disney trips!

Alexandra Johnson

Alternate Ego: Anna from Frozen. 

Brister is Spencer's little sister, but she is better known as a constant ball of energy and fun.  Bri is full of stories and will never shy away from telling you exactly what she thinks.  An avid fan of Minecraft, make sure to ask her about all of her most recent houses she's built.  Bri is currently a freshman in high school and enjoying the newest landscape to conquer.  She has always been Spencer and Jordan's biggest fan and we love that she will be in the wedding.  Ask her to show you her favorite TikTok dance and feel free to join in!


Brianna Thornhill

Alternate Ego: Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  Ashley has been in Jordan's life for as long as she can remember.  From the early days of watching movies on pink princess TV's to now Ashley being a permanent part of the Johnson family.  They have all spent many nights up at the Utah cabin playing in the woods and exploring the creek, along with many beach vacations.  Jordan and Ashley bonded over long conversations at camp and their love of Disney.  Make sure to ask her about all the little Johnson's because she's known us the longest!

Alternate Ego: Elsa from Frozen.

Amariah and Jordan quickly became friends at Whitworth, bonding over their love of food, travel, and frantic wedding planning.  She is the sweetest soul and has been there for Jordan from the day they first met.  They love sneaking away during big group events and people watching from the corner.   She is a newly wed to Mr. Casey Sweet (also in our wedding party).  Ask her about her new job as a marketing graphic designer and her recent travels to Guadeloupe!

Amariah Adams

Alternate Ego: Milo from Atlantis.  

Conman the leprechaun is what Spencer and his dad called him when they were little kids.  Spencer shares his nerdy side with him, as they both have a deep love for gaming and Star Wars. He's currently attending Virginia Tech to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. In recent years, he has fallen in love with birdwatching and space exploration.  He's always going to be Spencer's first friend in the world. He certainly has PLENTY of stories he can tell you about little Spence. 


Conner Thornhill

Alternate Ego: Crush from Nemo.

Nathan is Jordan's first friend and, as her twin, the person that has been with her through every big life step.  He is genuinely the best listener and only person to go to with big ideas and thoughts.  Nathan and Jordan are the family introverts and spend most of their time sitting back and watching the madness pass by. When Jordan first started dating Spencer he told her "not to steal his friend".  Sorry Nathan! Make sure to ask him about his newest internship in cyber security that he is doing in Ohio and whether he's figured out quantum computing yet.

Alternate Ego: Lightning McQueen from Cars.

Spencer and Casey met in college Spencer's freshman year, where he had to deal with Spence barging into his room almost every day with something to say. Casey has listened and laughed with Spencer about most of the things that happened at Whitworth. Currently, he serves as a computer programmer while living life with his new bride Amariah (who is also in our wedding party!).  Look for him at the wedding and ask him about the time Spencer made him walk to Martin's house 5-6 blocks in the snow at midnight.

Alternate Ego: Fergus from Brave.

Aside from sharing their love for Scotland, James and Spencer shared a home for two years while at Whitworth. James and Spencer love playing music together at jam sessions to laughing together at the local pub. He's currently a Project Manager and loves to watch tons of movies. Secretly, he wants to be the manager of an In-N-Out one day (seriously, ask him about it).  Ask him about how Spencer ruined his cast iron skillet... poor guy had to take it away from him.



James Parrish

Alternate Ego: Emperor Kuzco from Emperor's New Groove.

Without Bithell, Spencer doesn't know how he would have survived his first semester of college. He and Anthony lived together all four years at Whitworth. This man is a legend on the clarinet and is currently pursuing a Masters of Music at Temple University in Philly. Spencer and Anthony have spent many an evening talking about life, philosophy, and tequila. Be sure to find him at the wedding and ask him about all of our basketball tournaments that he claims he won.

If you would like to make the short trip even shorter, feel free to fly! We recommend that you fly into San Diego International Airport (SAN), as it is closest to the venue. If you are going to be driving like us, we will see you on the road! We recommend taking the I-15 South, but always make sure to check your maps app to avoid California traffic!

Traveling from Las Vegas?

We are so excited that you can join us! We recommend flying into San Diego International Airport (SAN), which is 10 minutes from the venue, or Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which is 2 hours. If you want, rent a car! That will help you to ride along and explore the beautiful California coast.

Hodad's in San Diego legendary. It was first opened in 1969 by Byron and Virginia Hardin and over the years as it has grown in popularity. It has since been passed down through multiple generations. Now, tourists and San Diegans line up on Newport Avenue to squeeze into Hodad's sticker-covered dining room to feast on juicy burgers, towering baskets of "frings" (onion rings and fries) and creamy milkshakes.&nbsp;Hodad's estimates that it sells between 1,200 and 1,500 burgers every day. The Johnson family loves sitting around the giant surf board and gorging themselves before a beach day. Be prepared to eat!

The San Diego Zoo is 100 acres in size. It is well known for its&nbsp;lush, naturalistic habitats and unique animal encounters and is home to more than 3,700 rare and endangered animals representing approximately 660 species and subspecies and a prominent botanical collection with more than 700,000 plants.

This is a beautiful golf course and one of the Daves' favorite greens! Torrey Pines Golf Course is a 36-hole facility owned&nbsp;the City of San Diego, originally designed by William F. Bell. The South Course was redesigned in 2001 by Rees Jones in preparation for the 2008 U.S. Open and is now 7,698 yards with a par of 72. The North Course is 7,258 yards in length with a par of 72.

Torrey Pines Golf Course

Coronado Island is one of the Johnson family's favorite escapes from reality. It is home to a historic downtown with adorable shopping and restaurants. The white sandy beaches are beautiful and where you can enjoy kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding, and so much more. It is also home to the Hotel Del Coronado, a gorgeous architectural masterpiece built in 1888. It is worth it just to go there and enjoy an ice cream cone on the beach.

The home of the San Diego Padres, Petco Park is an absolutely beautiful stadium and a great place to spend an afternoon. You can enjoy great food and beautiful scenery as it overlooks the bay! Be sure to pick up a grilled hot dog and a Tri-tip Sandwich at Seaside Market. The Johnson family has many great memories there.

This is where Spencer and Jordan got engaged! It is a beautiful state owned beach that stretches along the coast of the town of Carlsbad. It guarantees a sun filled day of fun!

This is the Johnson family's favorite donut and coffee shop! Located in the heart of North County San Diego featuring fresh artisan doughnuts made from scratch every hour. Locally sourced goods and with the decor to match their building from 1920, they will definitely deliver the goods.

The Goods

This is our favorite favorite farmer's market! It is open every Wednesday and starts at 2:30. The State Street Farmers' Market is a fresh-air grocery store focusing on fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, eggs, nuts, and honey. And yes, even fresh flowers and plants. There are plenty of artisan food vendors too to round out your shopping experience, including bread, granola, yogurt, bone broth, kombucha, fudge, cookies, and more.

State Street Farmers Market

Jordan's absolute favorite place on Earth, DISNEYLAND!! It is only an hour and a half from the venue and the guaranteed happiest place on Earth. Opened in 1955, it is a collection of two amusement parks, Disneyland and California Adventure. While you're there, make sure to grab a Disney Dill Pickle and say hi to Winnie the Pooh!

One of our favorite beaches. The two plus miles of sandy beach offers a great place to relax, walk, or run. Two coastal parks,&nbsp;Powerhouse&nbsp;and&nbsp;Seagrove&nbsp;Parks, are located just above the 15th Street surf break; providing a great spot to picnic with friends and family. The Powerhouse Park also features a barefoot friendly, dog free "tot lot," where kids can play on swings, slides, and climb. North Beach, affectionately called "Dog Beach" by dog owners, is located north of 29th Street and stretches nearly one half mile to our border with Solana Beach.

Del Mar

Every soccer tournament, the Johnson Family would roll into the race track and Dave would give each kid a 20 dollar bill. We then ran to the betting windows to place our bets on the horses with the most creative names and no other criteria. While you are there, pick up some nachos and enjoy the ocean view from the stands.
