Kyle and I grew up less than two hours away from each other in Iowa. We both went to nursing school at Iowa in Iowa City. We have been to a dozen of the same exact sporting events including RAGBRAI, University of Iowa's football games in California, Indiana, and Iowa City.
We both also enjoyed a part of our careers as travel nurses, working hospitals all around the country. As well as enjoying our spare time spent adventuring in the mountains, finding high adrenaline/fitness sports to participate in.
In the summer of 2023, Kyle found himself taking a full-time job in Bishop, CA, a town of 4,000 people. This was almost five years after I had found myself working at that same hospital in Bishop.
After we started dating, and telling people about our history of living such close proximity lives, we were told we were part of "The Invisible String Theory." This theory in love refers to the belief that two people destined to be together are connected by an unseen, metaphorical string, meaning no matter the distance or obstacles, they will eventually find their way to each other, based on the idea of fate and destiny.
Whether you believe this theory, or that I just needed to stick around in one place long enough to let Kyle catch up to my coat tails, the moral of the story is: We finally found each other and get to live happily ever after together in our small mountain town.
