On September 22nd, 2018, a night where neither of us really wanted to go out, our lives changed forever. Dan went to meet with friends at Klondike Kates in Newark, DE. When he got there Stefania was already there with her friends and actually chatting with some of Dan’s friends. Stefania was in her chair, the chair she always was in when she went to Kate’s. Dan sat down next to her at the corner of the bar where the bartender Fritz, introduced us to one another. We began talking to each other and before we knew it the night was ending. Dan had left Kate’s to join friends at another bar. To the dismay of Stefania, Dan didn’t even ask her for her number! Dan, promising to return before the bar closed, did just that with 5 minutes to spare. The look of Stefania’s face when seeing Dan upon his return, was reassurance that the feelings towards each other was mutual. We were left wanting to see each other some more and reconnected the next day too! Stefania, a junior at University of Delaware, and Dan, more than a few years out of college, found tons of common ground on our Italian heritages, our love for food, and so much more. Fast forward 4 years, and while visiting Texas on July 4th weekend, after only a month of coordinating in secret, in the lovely town of Grapevine, TX, Dan dropped to a knee and professed his love and commitment to Stefania in front of loved ones. The location of the engagement possessed deeper meaning as also a symbol of new beginnings. Just a few months after that, Stefania and Dan moved to Prosper, TX where they currently reside.
