When and where is the wedding taking place?

The wedding is on August 24, 2024 at 10548 Lakeshore Road, Port Alberni, BC.

What time should I arrive at the wedding ceremony?

The ceremony begins at 1:30, so please arrive by 1.15pm to ensure you don't miss anything. There is no parking at the property so there will be a shuttle provided to and from the wedding location. Shuttle times TBD. Drop off at the property is okay.

What should I wear to the wedding?

We are planning for a formal affair, but we also want you to be comfortable, especially considering the hot weather. Ladies, feel free to wear sundresses, jumpsuits, or light, flowy gowns. Gents, you can pair your formal attire with a comfortable, breathable shirt and consider skipping the tie if you wish. Dress shorts are also appropriate in the heat! And don't forget to bring some stylish sunglasses and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.

What should we keep in mind for footwear at your wedding?

We want you to feel relaxed and at ease, so we recommend opting for comfortable footwear. Given that our celebration takes place outdoors on grass and gravel, comfortable shoes will ensure you can fully enjoy every moment of the festivities without any discomfort.

Is there a wedding registry or gift list?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ever ask for. Having all of our favourite people from around the world together for one special day is more than we could have imagined! We are so grateful to have you in our lives, and your well wishes mean everything to us. If you were considering a gift, a contribution towards our Honeymoon would be incredibly appreciated, but please know that your presence and love are the most cherished gifts of all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of our special day.

Will there be transportation provided from the ceremony to the reception?

Our lakeside ceremony will take place against the backdrop of Sproat Lake and Mount Arrowsmith, setting the stage for a day filled with love and cherished moments! After the ceremony, we invite you to join us at our reception on the same property, just across the street. Please be prepared for a day outside, rain or shine! Sunscreen, bug spray, plenty of water, and shade will be provided. Following the ceremony, we'll be serving an array of appetizers, refreshing beverages, and you can groove to the sounds of live music in the reception area. For your convenience, a shuttle service will be available to the property before the ceremony, departing from a central location in Port Alberni, and will depart the property back to town in the late evening. Stay tuned for shuttle schedule updates as we get closer to the big day. For those with mobility issues, there will be a golf cart available if needed.

Are children allowed at the wedding?

We've made the decision to include only immediate family children at the wedding. We sincerely hope this choice doesn't pose any inconvenience for you. We look forward to celebrating this special day with our nearest and dearest, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

Can I bring a plus one to the wedding?

If your invitation specifies a plus one, feel free to bring a guest. If not, we hope you understand our limitations due to space and budget.

What's the menu for the reception?

We are serving a steak & salmon buffet, and there will be options for dietary restrictions as well. Please let us know in the RSVP if you have any special dietary needs.

What about drinks?

To keep the spirits high and the atmosphere relaxed, we've decided to offer an open bar featuring a selection of beer, ciders, wine, and coolers. While we won't be serving hard liquor, you're welcome to bring your own as well as any specific beverages you want to enjoy while dancing the night away!

Is there a schedule of events for the wedding day?

Yes, we will provide a schedule of events at the ceremony/reception.

Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony and reception?

We kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos and videos during the ceremony, as we have hired professional photographers. During the reception, you are welcome to take photos.

Will there be a dance floor at the reception?

Yes, we'll have a dance floor, and we hope you'll join us in celebrating on it!
