How to get there

International Flights
For international air travel, the easiest way to get to Port Alberni is to fly into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). From there, you can hop on a connecting flight to Nanaimo Airport (YCD). It is about a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Nanaimo to Port Alberni. Car rentals are available from YCD.
There's also the option to take a 1.5 hour ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo. Car rentals are available from YVR.
