We've reserved a discounted room block at the downtown Olympia DoubleTree Hilton hotel, which you can access by clicking here or calling and mentioning the Layton/Buettler wedding. This location is also the pickup/drop point for the wedding day shuttle bus (which will be available to ALL wedding guests regardless of lodging).
Our room discount will be available until early July.
IN GENERAL, DO I NEED A CAR TO GET AROUND OLYMPIA?
This all depends on what you plan on doing and where you are staying. Downtown Olympia is walkable and there is also a free bus system. Rideshares like Lyft and Uber are also available, though not as plentiful as in larger cities.
I'M NOT RENTING A CAR. HOW DO I GET TO THE WEDDING FESTIVITIES?
We will be providing a round trip school bus that picks up and drops off at the downtown Olympia DoubleTree Hilton at 4:45pm on August 13. It will make its return trip at 11pm when the reception ends.
Please note that while you may have luck getting an Uber or a Lyft to the ceremony, you definitely won't be able to get one on the way back (it's rural)!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE WEDDING?
We want you to feel "garden-party-gorg!" A gown or a tux would be over-the-top, but that said - you do you.
All of the festivities minus the ceremony will be outdoors, and the "dance floor" will literally be grass (think putting green... Steph's dad is a maniac with a lawnmower), so that's something to think about when making your shoe choice. You probably want to leave the stilettos at home.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CEREMONY?
Though we have listed a 5:30pm start time, it will likely start at 5:40pm. We respectfully request that you do not arrive any earlier than 5pm. If you end up with time to kill, we highly recommend taking a little drive out to Steamboat Island!
CAN I BRING KIDS OR A DATE TO THE WEDDING?
We wish we could accommodate more people (seriously!), but space is truly limited and we have taken great care to specify exact guests on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!
WILL THERE BE AN AFTER PARTY?
Yes - an informal one! We are planning to go to The Brotherhood after the reception with anyone who cares to join us. This Olympia mainstay offers great ambience, shuffleboard, pool, a photo booth, and a little patio. It is cash only.
WHEN DO I NEED TO RSVP BY?
June 25th please!
YOUR "POCKET GUIDE TO OLYMPIA" MENTIONED A CREATURE CALLED A "GEODUCK." I'M INTRIGUED...
