Stephanie and Alex met after Alex moved from Ohio to Birmingham following medical school for residency at UAB. They went on their first date at a beloved Birmingham bar - The Atomic. From their first date through today, Stephanie and Alex have always been a perfect match.

The time since their first date has been filled with challenges and change, but they have always put each other first. Alex has survived the hectic life of being an orthopedic surgery resident. He is now in his last year of residency, and is serving as one of the chief residents. Stephanie graduated with her DNP and is now working as an acute care nurse practitioner.

In April of 2023, they took a weekend trip to Highlands, NC to celebrate Alex's recent fellowship match at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Little did Stephanie know he had an ulterior motive for the trip. On Saturday, the two had finished a scenic hike and went back to the Highlander Mountain House to relax prior to dinner. Alex proposed in their room (later revealing his initial proposal plans had fallen through). Stephanie said yes!
