We met on a dating app called Hinge. Stephanie messaged Dave first, but Dave never messaged back for a month... When he finally did, the rest was history!

We went to J9 wine bar in Lincoln park. This was during peak Covid times, so the wine bar had to leave their windows open in the Chicago cold! We drank lots of wine to keep warm and instantly hit it off. We quickly planned our second date for later that week.

Dave kept Stephanie on her toes and waited two days after Valentine's Day to propose. He planned the most romantic proposal at J9 wine bar, where we had our first date. We went to dinner first and planned to get after-dinner drinks at J9. Stephanie was suspicious... but at this point we had finished our drinks and nothing had happened yet. As we were walking out of the wine bar, Dave proposed right where we had our first kiss on the sidewalk!

Since we've gotten engaged, we've built a house together, moved to Fuquay-Varina, NC, and become dog parents together!
