Our Wedding

The story of Tim and I begins like many millennial love stories: with a dating app. This time however, girl saw boy's profile, girl said something lame, and boy never replied. Fast forward 6 months and boy and girl meet at a Fourth of July party. Of course, it took me a few hours but I eventually realized why Tim looked so familiar. I was horrified he'd remember me&nbsp;and spent the rest of the weekend shamefully avoiding him,&nbsp;hoping he wouldn’t catch on I was someone he had snubbed on a dating app. He never did notice (I had to tell him 3 months in to dating) and our friendship grew throughout that summer. Tim asked me out, and I went on the best first date of my life September 12th&nbsp;2017.&nbsp;





I fell&nbsp;for&nbsp;Tim on our first date&nbsp;and am so happy to share our love with family and friends that same day 3 years later.&nbsp;

The Meet Cute- As told by Stephanie 

Well, after a rough start with the dating app debacle, I got it together and started taking Steph out. We were having the time of our lives together and decided to take a road trip through Nashville. On one special evening, I took her out to a very romantic dinner consisting of barbecue sauce slathered over a rack of ribs, and steak fries. She was very impressed to say the least. After that I told her I had a surprise planned and told her that she would like it. She was under the impression that we were going to have guitar lessons

 

We went to a more secluded part of town to a private studio space. A greeter met us at the door and welcomed us in. Inside we could hear light guitar strumming, and there was a large wooden door on wheels to the right. I took hold of the door and slid it back along the wall. Behind it was a row of candles leading up to a stage, and a live performer singing “At last”. Stephanie was confused, then it all came together for her and she had so much emotion running through her that she could barely speak. We walked down the aisle slowly hand in hand. I told her how I felt about her, bent my knee and asked her to be my wife. Tears of joy streamed down her face. She brought herself able to speak again and said, “yes, of course!”. We celebrated overlooking the Nashville skyline, just the two of us, thinking of our lives to come.

A donut miss in Portland! Swing by any time of the day or night after exploring downtown. Located in Portland's historic Chinatown district, voodoo gained popularity with the "keep portland weird" culture.&nbsp;

Voodoo Doughnut

Best view in the city. Roses will be in bloom, you can look at them while also taking in all of Portland and Mt. Hood.&nbsp;The rose garden is attached to Washington Park which is a great place to let kids off the leash.

International Rose Test Garden

Go here in the morning because&nbsp;space in the parking lot&nbsp;fills up fast. Most of the trails are still closed due to fires a few years back so the hike is easy for kids.&nbsp;

Note:&nbsp;There are MANY waterfalls close to the venue: Oneata george, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Wahkeena Falls... Just type in a quick google maps search and they all appear. Bring hiking shoes and even a swimsuit if you plan on doing some&nbsp;of these as they can get quite adventurous.&nbsp;

Multnomah Falls

Hawthorne is a very fun and eclectic&nbsp;neighborhood. Tons of vintage stores (THE&nbsp;BEST&nbsp;is Red Light).&nbsp;The Sapphire Hotel* is at the end of this street and has fantastic&nbsp;cocktails in an intimate restaurant setting.&nbsp; 

Steph's choice for breakfast every time is Jam on Hawthorne. Portland brunch culture demands long outdoor wait times (but it's worth it!) and they give you coffee while you wait.&nbsp;

*It was at the&nbsp;sapphire hotel over a jalapeño cocktail with a friend that Steph&nbsp;realized she should go out with Tim.&nbsp;

The Gorge is GORGEOUS. This is where Tim and I&nbsp;have chosen to get married. You'll find dramatic waterfalls, overlooks, and lots of hiking. Just get out and explore it when you get sick of Portland traffic.&nbsp;If you are more interested in small&nbsp;town sites;&nbsp;I highly recommend heading down the road to Hood River,&nbsp;Oregon. Great little city with lots of shops and breweries.&nbsp;

Hoyt Arboretum

OMSI&nbsp;&nbsp;is a science and&nbsp;contains three auditoriums, including a large-screen theatre,&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetarium" title="Planetarium">planetarium</a>, and exhibition halls with a variety of hands-on permanent exhibits focused on natural sciences, industry, and technology. Transient exhibits span a wider range of disciplines.

The wedding will feature wine from Lange Estate in Oregon's wine country. Take a tour while you are in town and visit some of the other gorgeous wineries in the area. Definitely worth the drive.&nbsp;
