Things to Do

We will be adding to this list as we find new fun things! As we are not personally from the area, if you have recommendations we could add for our traveling guests, please send a note to Stephanie at stephk7437@gmail.com

La Jolla Shores Beach

La Jolla, CA 92037, USA

Just over 2 miles from the reception locations, this beach offers soft clean sand, it's dog-friendly, a great surfing spot if that's your thing! Kellog Park is nearby if you're bringing kiddos, they offer free parking and restrooms onsite. Lifeguards are on duty during the day time. If you want to book an activity, there's snorkeling, paddle boarding, surf lessons, and more! Take a look at the link for 25 reasons La Jolla Shores is one of the best beaches!

Torrey Pines Gliderport

2800 Torrey Pines Scenic Dr, La Jolla, CA 92037, USA
(858) 452-9858

5 miles from the reception location, the Torrey Pines Cliffs’ long history of soaring aircraft dates back to the 1930s. Today, it’s a place people come to fly or relax while watching others take to the sky above Black’s Beach and over the ocean. Bring your camera, as it’s a much cooler experience than it sounds.

Those who are daring can actually strap in and take a paragliding or hang-gliding tandem flight (a cost applies). Casual food for purchase (sandwiches, salads, and soups) is available at the Cliff Hanger Cafe, or bring your own to eat at the picnic tables there.

Restaurants to Try

George's at the Cove

1250 Prospect St, La Jolla, CA 92037, USA
(858) 454-4244

Half a mile from the Reception Venue, George's at the Grove comes highly recommended! Reservations are recommended, especially if you want one of their beautiful ocean view tables!

Queenstown Village

1044 Wall St, San Diego, CA 92037, USA
(858) 352-6595

Half a mile from the reception venue, a favorite of locals since it opened, Queenstown’s botanical interior is just as good as its menu. They’re known for New Zealand burgers, but mostly people are ordering salads, steak frites, the shareables (particularly good sweet potato fries) and other comfort foods like fish and chips or mac and cheese.

You can also take a seat in the bar area for a specialty cocktail, or well-priced wines!
