Q + A

Is San Miguel de Allende safe?

Yes! We've been here multiple times and have never felt unsafe. Locals, including the ex-pat Americans who live here permanently, are very friendly and welcoming to tourists. But of course, in any situation, we would ask that you use common sense as always when traveling, whether in the US or internationally.

Will there be transportation to the weekend's events?

No. San Miguel is a small, walkable city. Depending on the location of your hotel, the walk to the weekend's events could be 5-15 minutes away. If you would prefer not to walk, feel free to arrange for a taxi!

Can I bring my kids?

We have chosen to make our wedding weekend adults only. If you would like to bring your kids to San Miguel, we are happy to help you find childcare for the wedding events.

How long should I stay?

We recommend making the most of your trip and staying as long as you can! Wedding festivities begin Friday evening, so we recommend arriving Thursday or Friday morning, at the latest.

Do I need to rent a car?

No. San Miguel is a relatively small, dense town with narrow cobblestone streets so please pack comfortable walking shoes! There are also cabs everywhere and they are inexpensive. If you take a cab while in the city, make sure you use a green or white one (these are official). Don't forget, you will need to book a car to take you from the airport to San Miguel and back.

What will the weather be like?

San Miguel in April is beautiful! The average temperature ranges from 75-88 degrees. There could be rain in the forecast, but if so, showers are typically short and intermittent. Overall, the temperatures will be warm, but the evenings can become cooler, so we always suggest packing a light jacket just in case!
