To Most people our story will seem like nearly all modern young couple’s stories, but to us it feels so special. We met online, November of 2021. We messaged back and forth for a few weeks before Steven finally asked Taylor on a date. Little did we know our lives were about to change forever, and in the BEST way possible. We went on our first date and we joked around, laughed till our cheeks hurt, and got to know each other more. We left the date feeling very smitten but unsure. It was clear to us that we had a connection, but Steven lived in Waterloo, Taylor lived in Ankeny. Almost a 2 hour drive away. However we decided the distance didn’t matter to us, we wanted to explore and build on our connection. We would take turns driving to each other on the weekend. We sometimes surprised each other and showed up in the middle of the week just to see each other for a few hours. It was very apparent to us pretty early on in the relationship this was different than other relationships we had been in. Things felt different, happier, and easier. We felt truly loved, known, and wanted. We both knew that we had found our forever person. After we moved in together in June of 2022 we continued to go on dates, hikes, picnics, and small little trips. We continued to fall in love more and more every day, and we would find ourselves telling each other we didn’t know it was possible to love someone this much. Then came Christmas Day 2022, the day Steven asked Taylor to marry him. Between soft happy sobs and coughs (I had such a bad cold 🤣) she said yes!!! This was the first step to building our beautiful life and family. We are over the moon to take the next step of tying the knot.
