I've always been someone who's quiet and a bit shy when meeting new people. It usually takes me some time to feel comfortable and open up. But with Steven, it was different. From our very first date, when Steven took off his sock and shoe at the restaurant to show me his feet, I’ve felt completely at ease. It was in that moment, I knew I could be my true weird self. Steven’s goofy, quirky personality is infectious and makes it easy to want to be around him. He is someone that I look forward to ending my day on the couch with either watching a movie or getting wrapped up in a show, even when one of us fall asleep and we have rewatch everything the next night.

Pretty much from the first time I met Alexi, I knew there was something different about her. I just had that cheesy romantic-comedy movie feeling that she was the one. I always thought the "oh, I knew she was the one when I first saw her" rhetoric was mega cringe and exaggerated, but nope, I can attest. Ever since then, being with her has only added value to my life and she has only beaten me a few times! We started off our marriage with me being away in a stressful deployment environment for almost a year (it added 47 gray hairs, I counted) and it takes a special kind of woman to endure that with a "special" kind of guy like me.
