Steven received only a few months’ notice that he would be deploying overseas with the Army Reserve. With time being short, we decided that love couldn’t wait. On March 15, 2025, we were married at the State Capitol in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was a small ceremony with just our families present, followed by a simple dinner together to mark the start of our new chapter.

Just one month later, Steven departed for his deployment. Though the timing was bittersweet, we cherished the little time we had together before he left and looked forward to the day when we could celebrate our marriage with all of the people who mean the most to us.

Now that Steven has safely returned home, we are happy to finally celebrate our marriage with everyone by having a belated reception at the Omaha Firefighter's Hall. Our marriage has already endured distance and separation for almost a year and that has only made us stronger. We are so excited to celebrate our love and commitment with family and friends who supported us through it all.
