Our wedding weekend is being shared by the

Coastal Delaware Running Festival. Some streets in Rehoboth may be temporarily blocked off on Sunday morning. If you're not staying at Henlopen Hotel or within walking distance to it, be sure to give yourself a couple extra minutes to get there.

We are still planning on having the ceremony on the beach. There will be a few chairs available to sit down during the ceremony. However, since the ceremony itself is only approximately 25 minutes long and for budgetary reasons, there will not be chairs for everyone.

In a perfect world, we would love to have the ceremony on the beach outside of the Henlopen Hotel. There are a few factors that will determine whether this will happen. The weather on the beach is quite unpredictable so it may be a last minute decision to have the ceremony inside where we are having the reception.

Also, depending on how many Nor'Easters hit Rehoboth over the winter, there may be too much beach erosion that will make it physically challenging to walk from the boardwalk onto the beach.

What is semi-formal beach attire?

For [individuals who identify as female], a dress, suit, formal romper, or jumpsuit all work for a semi-formal or cocktail affair. Feel free to include prints, avoiding anything too loud or any style that might clash with the venue. If you choose to wear a beachy dress, specifically, consider it in either tea-length or maxi to avoid looking too casual. What's more, dressy sandals, chunky heels, and wedges are acceptable footwear options.

For [individuals who identify as male], while a jacket isn’t required, a breathable sport coat or unique blazer is a fun addition. Feel free to include prints, avoiding anything too loud as well. Shoes can be a little more casual, but they still need to be closed-toe, such as a loafer or deck shoe. Again, shorts and sandals are not permitted.
