The nearest airport is the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport. Northfield is about a 45 minute drive south from the Twin Cities. The Fairfield Inn & Suites is walking distance to the Chapel (0.4 miles.) The reception in the Great Hall is a 2 minute walk from the Chapel.

We have a room block set up with Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott - a beautiful hotel on the river with pet friendly rooms, a riverside bar offering views of the Cannon River, Carleton College & Downtown Northfield, and other fun amenities. You can find the link to our room block in the "travel" tab of our website. Northfield also has plenty of adorable Bread and Breakfasts to be found. If staying closer to the airport/Mall of America better suites your needs, there are a handful of hotels in the area - but please be aware, Northfield is about 30 miles south of the Twin Cities.

Carleton is a unique campus environment as the surrounding neighborhood blends with the campus. You will find parking opportunities both on Carleton property and on Northfield city streets. Recommended parking lots can be found in front of and behind Sayles-Hill Campus center (Scoville General Parking), next to the Chapel (Skinner General Parking), and next to Cassat Hall (Nevada St General Parking.) An interactive map can be found at carleton.edu/map. If you run into issues or have questions with parking on the day, please call campus security: 507-222-4444.

Skinner Memorial Chapel has an accessibility ramp located on the northwest entrance, which allows for access to the first floor. If you have other accessibility needs, please contact Stuart or Ella directly. The reception taking place in the Great Hall (inside Severance Hall) is connected to Sayles-Hill Campus center, which has an accessibility ramp at the main entrance.

We are affectionately calling our dress code "Summer Soiree." Think bright bold colors, florals, sequins, sparkles, linens, suits, cocktail dresses, formal dresses, and nice summer sun dresses. We want you to look and feel good in the Minnesotan August. We encourage you to have fun and go all out! While you do not need to adhere to any color theme, here are some colors we especially love:

Hot! The average temperature for the southern half of Minnesota in August is around 80 degrees, and sometimes warmer. Minnesota is known for its spectacular lakes/marshes and spectacular summer rain storms that also come with a spectacular level of humidity. Both the ceremony and the reception will be in an indoor, climate controlled environment - but we can't promise you won't sweat or get rained on for the rest of your time in Northfield!

Yes! We love your kids. Please remember that you are responsible for your kids. Let us know in your RSVP how many delightful children will be accompanying you.
