VISA FOR VIETNAM

Most non-Vietnamese passport holders will require a visa to enter the country, although there are some exceptions.

Passport holder from Russia, South Korea, Japan and EU including Finland can enter Vietnam 45 days without visa for a single entry (update August 2023). If you are holding Canada, US, Mexico, Australia, Turkey passport, you need to apply for e-visa to enter Vietnam.

An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of visa types issued to foreigners by Vietnamese Immigration Department via electronic system if you want to stay longer up to maximum of 90 days, single entry.

The cost for the e-Visa is $25 USD and it's usually issued within 3 business days​. This visa must be obtained before your departure for Vietnam. You do not need to visit Vietnam Embassy for the visa, just apply online and if it is approved, just print E-visa to enter/exit Vietnam.

GETTING THERE

Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is well-connected with several international and domestic flights. Please note that most flights from the US, Australia, and Europe will often require a transit. The airport is located approximately 25 minutes from the wedding venue, Naman Retreat.

CASH OR CARD?

While credit card payments are accepted in many establishments, local street vendors and some modes of transportation operate on a cash-only basis. We recommend exchanging some of your local currency to Vietnamese dong (VND), preferably 1 million VND (~40USD) to cover transportation upon arriving in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, you can withdraw cash at ATMs within a bank or money exchange at local jewellery businesses.

WIFI & MOBILE DATA

Cell service in Vietnam is generally reliable, and free Wi-Fi is widely available in restaurants, cafes, and shopping centers. Downloading apps like WhatsApp or Telegram on your phone may be useful for making calls and sending texts.

But it’s really hard to connect yourself to free Wi-Fi when you are on the road or at public places in Vietnam (park or tourist attraction), even if you find a no-password Wi-Fi in a public place, its signal is not good.

WEATHER

April is one of the best time in Da Nang with low amount of rain and not too high temperatures. The highest temperature is 29.1°C (84.38°F), and the lowest temperature is around 23.1°C (73.58°F), often the minimum temperature is noted at night.

Prepare sunblock, aftersun, and mosquito protection spray for your trip.
