Our Story

Ours

Summer began working at Northwest Children's Home in the fall of 2019 as a case manager, while Hayden started working there in the spring of 2020.

Summer reached out to Hayden first to hang out, and fell short since he thought that she was in a different relationship. After she reached out a few times, Hayden realized that she was in fact single, and asked her to hang out and play some games for a friend's birthday.

This quickly turned into hanging out more, doing things such as the "Hot Ones" challenge, the Christmas Lights in Lewiston, and game nights with friends. Due to being in the peak of COVID, they had to get creative with the activities that they could do!

They officially started dating in December of 2020. However, since they worked together at NCH, they had to keep their relationship off of social media and away from the radar of upper management until Summer left NCH a year later.

They first moved in together in spring of 2022, along with their dog, Navi. They have so many things in common, while embracing each others differences. Some of their favorite things about their relationship includes their senses of humor and ability to communicate in healthy ways.

On July 27th, 2024 at one of their favorite places to go camping, the beautiful North Fork river of the Clearwater, Hayden proposed to Summer.

Hers

Summer was born and raised in Nampa, Idaho. She has one sister and many, many other very close family members. Throughout her entire childhood (and even through to 2023), Summer competed in gymnastics. She loves outdoor hobbies such as camping, hiking, frisbee golf, and fishing; but she also loves reading, puzzles, video games, and creating art.

She moved to Moscow in 2016 to attend the University of Idaho. Summer got two bachelor's degrees; one in Psychology and the other in Sociology: Criminology graduating summa cum laude.

In 2019, she started working at Northwest Children's Home as a case manager, where she would eventually meet her future husband.

From 2021 to 2023, Summer went back to school to obtain her Master's degree with graduate honors in Criminology with an emphasis in Human Behavior.

Summer is currently the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Idaho Lead Advocate for Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse in Moscow, Idaho

His

Hayden was born and raised in Orofino, Idaho with his two older brothers and his twin. Growing up near the Clearwater river, he enjoyed going across the road to go fishing, camping, playing video games, and hanging out with his friends. Hayden did many sports, such as soccer, track, and cheerleading even throughout college!

In 2013, Hayden started at the University of Idaho in Moscow to study psychology.

From there, he worked at Moscow Building Supply, Clearwater Counseling, and eventually Northwest Children's Home as a residential treatment specialist where he would meet and begin dating Summer.
