A Journey to Forever

It all began in the most glamorous of places: a high school basement party in the summer of 2013. One of those nights where nothing is planned, but everything changes.&nbsp; Sydney was about to start her senior year of high school, and Jeremy was home from Ball State for the summer. Sydney had just met a new friend that night, and on a whim, decided to tag along with her to “some guy Eric’s house.” She almost didn’t go, but something told her to say yes—and thank goodness she did. Jeremy, one of Eric’s best friends, was obviously there and immediately introduced himself. The rest was history. In a basement full of strangers, Jeremy was the one who made Sydney feel instantly welcome. Jeremy was funny, charming and that rare kind of person who makes you feel like you’ve known them forever. She left that night and immediately said, “I really like him. I think I want to date him.” She was this close to asking for his number… but played it cool. The next morning? A Twitter DM from Jeremy asking for hers. Classic modern romance. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Their first date and every one after felt just like the night they met—easy, familiar and full of laughter. Twelve years, countless dinner dates, weekend trips, buying a new home, job changes, a very spoiled golden retriever, a very sassy calico cat and a whole lot of life later—here we are. In 2024, Jeremy planned a proposal that felt just like their love story—thoughtful, meaningful and filled with heart. He got down on one knee and asked Sydney to marry him in an intimate setting at their home surrounded by red roses, candles and photos from their 11 years together. Then, to Sydney’s surprise, their closest family popped out to celebrate. Later that night, thinking they were just grabbing a celebratory drink, Sydney walked into a second surprise: an engagement party filled with all their friends and family. They’re tying the knot in Grand Rapids, Michigan—they often visited the city when Jeremy’s sister lived in the area and it became one of their favorite Southwestern Michigan spots. What started as a random summer night turned into the most beautiful forever. They’ve grown up together, laughed through every phase of life and never turned down a good meal or a better reason to celebrate. They can't wait to raise a glass (or two) with you soon!
