Cason, a 21-year-old Austin native, has spent his life in the heart of Texas. He’s about to graduate from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Health Sciences, specializing in Chiropractic. After marrying his beloved, he plans to continue his education at Parker University in Dallas, where he will pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. Sydney currently resides in the Dallas area, working from home in a cozy apartment in Grand Prairie. After college, she made her way to Texas, exploring the South and eventually finding her soulmate while living in the Austin area. Since June 2024, she has been working at Ivanti, an IT tech company, and is thriving in her career. Sydney is grateful for the life she’s built in both her professional and personal worlds.

What happens when a southern boy meets a Midwest girl? For Cason Best and Sydney Trees, it was the beginning of a love story they never saw coming. Cason, born and raised in Austin, Texas, was home for the summer from college when he crossed paths with Sydney, a Minnesota girl who had just moved to the South for her first job at Brentwood Christian School. Thanks to Sydney's aunt, uncle, cousins, and grandparents, who were all deeply involved in the Brentwood community, she was introduced to the Best family. Cason happened to be a good friend of Sydney’s cousin Evan, setting the stage for their fateful meeting. It all began with a casual lunch with Sydney’s family and Cason, but things truly heated up at a Fourth of July party. The two of them found themselves in a friendly but fierce game of bags, which quickly turned into what they would both call "competitive bickering"—though anyone watching could see it was really just playful flirting. Still, Sydney wasn’t sure if Cason was someone worth getting to know on a deeper level. So, she turned to her aunt and grandma for advice. When she received the green light, it didn’t take long for Cason to notice a new follow request on his Instagram from none other than “Evan’s hot cousin,” as he’d jokingly refer to her. Sydney, a little bold and a lot curious, invited Cason to hang out by the pool at her apartment complex. After a first-round rejection—Cason was busy with "Barbie movie plans" with the guys—he quickly asked for a second chance, and Sydney agreed. What followed was three hours of easy conversation, deep talks, and moments that felt like they had known each other forever. By the end of the afternoon, it was clear to both of them: this was something real. On August 6th, Cason asked Sydney to be his girlfriend, and they embarked on a long-distance relationship that lasted almost a year. Through it all, they built a foundation of love and trust that only grew stronger. Finally, on May 17th, Cason proposed, marking the next chapter in a love story that began with a chance meeting but grew into something destined to last a lifetime.

Raven is Sydney's Maid of Honor and one of her closest friends. The two met at St. Cloud State University, where they both played Division II softball together. Their bond grew strong both on and off the field, and Raven has been by Sydney's side through many milestones, making her the perfect choice to stand beside her on the big day.

Bryson is the youngest of Cason’s three brothers and one of his three best men. A sophomore at Wheaton College, Bryson balances his schoolwork with playing college football. Cason couldn’t imagine having anyone else by his side as a best man on such a special day.

Katie is a high school friend whom Sydney played volleyball with at Prior Lake High School. Known for her sharp wit and sarcastic humor, Katie is also incredibly intelligent. She has a unique way of bringing out Sydney's goofy side, making her a key part of ensuring the day is full of fun and laughter.

Coby is Cason's second oldest brother and is finishing up his studies at Lubbock University in Lubbock, Texas. He’s set to graduate with a degree in education, focusing on math.  In December, Coby added even more happiness to the Best family when he got engaged to his beautiful fiancée, Kira.

Jaydn is another of Sydney's stepsisters. While they never lived together, they spent plenty of time together and built a strong, sisterly bond over the years. Jaydn’s infectious energy and love for laughter always brighten any room, making her a true joy to be around.

Jackson and Cason first met at McMurry University, where they played on the football team together. Although they eventually parted ways from McMurry, they stayed in touch and have remained close friends ever since. Jackson now works with the UT Football team and takes online classes at ACU. Cason is grateful to have Jackson in his life, especially as he fondly remembers the days of hanging out in the dorms with his good friend.

Madi was one of Sydney’s first friends in college when they lived on the same floor in the dorms at St. Cloud State. An avid golfer, Madi went on to pursue her career in Connecticut while earning her business degree. With her bright personality and positive energy, Madi is truly a light to everyone she meets.

Sydney is one of the bride's close friends from college. During their time at college, Sydney and the bride played softball together, supporting each other through both the highs and lows of their softball journey. They share a deep passion for loving the Lord, and the bride is truly fortunate to have Sydney in her life!

Evan is an important part of Sydney and Cason’s story. As Sydney’s cousin and Cason’s longtime friend, their bond has been strong since elementary school at Brentwood Christian. Over the years, their friendship has grown through church and sports, and without Evan, Sydney and Cason may have never crossed paths. Evan is a sophomore at Texas A & M.

Emma Brostrom, sister to Katie Brostrom, shares a similar story with Sydney. The two met in high school and became close friends during their time on the varsity volleyball team. Emma is mature, smart, and has a sharp sense of sarcasm, which has helped create a fun and supportive friendship between the three. Emma has been fully involved in the wedding process and continues to invest in Sydney’s life, always offering her unwavering support. She’s truly a wonderful friend!

Skylar is a good friend Cason met in Dallas while attending a new church during his school year. From the very beginning, Skylar was one of the first people to make both Cason and Sydney feel truly welcomed, and their friendship quickly grew stronger. What started with a warm invitation blossomed into countless hours of pickleball and shared memories. Skylar is the kind of friend who always has your back and exemplifies what it means to be there for others. His support and friendship have meant so much to both Cason and Sydney.

Brooke Bowlin is smart, athletic, and full of energy, always knowing how to have a good time. Sydney met Brooke during her freshman year when Brooke was a sophomore, and they quickly formed a strong bond both as teammates and as friends off the field. Brooke’s determination and grit are truly admirable, and she’s someone Sydney deeply respects and values.

Drew and Cason first met at Brentwood Christian School and have been friends since 8th grade. Their bond grew stronger through playing football together, and they continued to build their friendship off the field by attending Camp Blue Haven. Drew is currently pursuing his Business degree at Texas Tech, and their friendship remains a lasting part of both their lives.

Brook (or Brooklyn) is Sydney's stepsister and twin to Jaydn. While their relationship is similar to the one Sydney shares with Jaydn, it has grown even stronger during the wedding planning and engagement season. Brook brings incredible strength and lively conversation to the table, always making every moment more enjoyable. This May 17th, Brook will also be celebrating her own special day, as she will be marrying her love—marking another beautiful chapter in their family's journey.

Billy is Sydney’s younger brother, known for forging his own path and making independent choices while always prioritizing family. He’s currently in a relationship with his girlfriend, Livia, and they live in Mankato with their two cats, Basil and Cheese. A diesel mechanic by trade, Billy enjoys calling his sister in his free time to catch up and share a laugh.

Brooke Kenow is one of Sydney's three stepsisters, and the two have shared a close bond since they were young. As they grew older, their relationship only deepened, and Brooke has become like a sister to Sydney. Recently, Brooke embraced motherhood with the arrival of her beautiful daughter, Maria—Sydney's very first niece, adding another special connection to their family.

Micah is Cason’s oldest brother and one of his best men. As the sibling who has always looked out for Cason, Micah is the perfect choice to stand by his side on such a special day. He’s smart, sarcastic, and loves being a dad. Married to his beloved Christi, Micah welcomed their baby daughter, Wiley, in October 2024. While embracing parenthood, he’s also finishing his master’s degree in engineering at Texas A&M, juggling both family life and academics with grace.

Maria is the daughter of Brooke and John Kenow, Sydney’s sister and brother-in-law, and will be one of their two flower girls. As the first baby to make Sydney an aunt, Maria holds a special place in her heart. Sydney has loved watching her grow and is excited to have her be a part of the wedding day.

Wiley is the newest addition to our family and is growing quickly! She’s the daughter of Micah and Christi Best, Cason’s oldest brother, and was welcomed into the world on October 26, 2024. Wiley made Cason an uncle for the first time, and she has already brought so much joy and love to the Best family.
