Here in Spirit

We created this page to honor our loved ones who have passed, ensuring they’re with us in spirit on our wedding day. They say the internet is forever, so we felt this was the perfect place to share our love for them—a love that, like their memory, endures forever.

September 7, 1932 – January 8, 2010

I still remember how you’d play with my hair until I fell asleep, and how you always told me to sing for you, even when I felt shy. I miss those mornings with you and Grandma, sharing coffee together, and the warmth that came with it. You told me to be picky about the boy I marry one day, and you shared a secret about how I’d know when I found him. You were right, Me-me. Thank you for all the love, wisdom, and memories that will stay with me forever. —Tamra

Julie Ann Rose

October 5, 1951 - May 15, 2012

Grandma was a big part of my life growing up. She helped raise me and made sure I learned right from wrong. She was kind but didn’t hesitate to be tough when she needed to be. Her kitchen was her domain—I learned early on to stay out of it. I’ll never forget the goat we had... or the shock of realizing it was dinner one night. She always had a toothpick in her mouth and a clear goal for me: to grow up to be a good person and a strong man. She meant a lot to me and is missed every day. —Aden

Danny Frank Griffitts

April 25, 1951 - January 22, 2021

Grandpa Danny was the kind of guy who made a lasting impression with his cool, laid-back demeanor. Though Aden didn’t get to see him often, there are memories that will always be cherished, like the times he made sure to be there for Aden’s birthday in McAlester. —Aden

To my biological father, I wish we had spoken more during the time you had on this earth. Thank you for the motivational talks and for always encouraging me to push myself in school and sports. I’ll never forget how proud you were when I lettered my freshman year. I also believe you were the one who helped me connect with my sisters after your passing. I love you, and I’m grateful for everything you did to support me. —Tamra

Nanny, I’ll always treasure sneaking chocolate from your fridge and sitting on your front porch, especially when the Christmas lights were up. You encouraged my love for coloring and story telling. You always supported my creative spirit. Those simple moments with you are memories I hold close, and I’ll forever cherish your love and warmth. —Tamra

Joey was more than a pet; he was a best friend and teacher, guiding us through healing and growth. He was our baby boy, the light of our lives, and Aden’s “sweet and sloppy boy” and “kangaroo baby.” His passing on April 26 left a hole in our hearts that words can’t fill, marking the hardest and most profound heartbreak we’ve faced together as a couple. Joey’s love will forever be a part of us, and we take comfort in knowing he’s watching over us from beyond the Rainbow Bridge. We love you always, Joey. ❤️🌈 —Tamra and Aden

Dad, our relationship was far from easy, but you were the man who raised me and the one I will always call Dad. I cherish the good moments we shared—the delicious meals you made, the time at the ballfields with you cheering from the stands or coaching with pride. I carry with me the valuable lessons you taught me: to work hard, stand strong, and never settle for less than I deserve. Despite the challenges we faced, I love and miss you dearly. Rest easy, Dad—your impact and love will forever be a part of who I am. —Tamra

Jake was so much more than a pet—he was family. Jake was a stubborn boy who would grumble and "talk" when he thought he was right, but his gentle and protective nature was unlike any other dog we’ve ever had. His unwavering loyalty was a constant source of comfort. His passing has left a deep void in our hearts, but his memory will forever be a guiding light in our lives. We will miss him dearly and hold onto the love he gave us. Rest peacefully, sweet Jake. You will always be our Old Man. ❤️—Tamra and Aden
