National Mall

Union Market is one of our favorite places to go in DC, mostly because it involves eating! There are dozens of cuisine options to choose from, so there is something for everyone! Our personal favorite is Bun'd Up. The surrounding area also has restaurants and stores to explore, and be sure to check out La Cosecha across the street for Latin American cuisine.

Neighborhoods to Explore

GeorgetownGeorgetown is a fun neighborhood to explore and spend a couple hours shopping, eating and walking by the waterfront. We love to stop and get a cupcake at Baked & Wired, a smoothie from South Block or vegan tacos (that I swear are actually good!) from Chaia. Adams MorganAdams Morgan is the place to go for funky vintage stores (Meeps), record stores (Songbyrd), bookstores (Lost Story Books), coffee shops (Tryst), and restaurants and bars (Zenebech, Amsterdam Falafel, Roofer's Union, Madam's Organ, Jack Rose, etc.).

We love going to the arboretum to walk around and have a picnic. We have been over a dozen times and still haven't seen the whole thing. The first time we went I said to Ilan that this would be a cute place to get engaged, and he listened!

Places to Eat

There are way too many great restaurants in DC to name them all, and there are always new places opening up, but here are a few of our favorites. There is a star next to the restaurants that you should make a reservation for well in advance. -*Le Diplomate (great for dinner or brunch)-*Doi Moi (a Marcus family favorite)-*Maydan-*Salt Line-*Da Hong Pao-*Due South-*Thip Kao-Bantam King-Compass Rose-Wise Guys-*Ted's Bulletin (good for brunch!)-Call Your Mother (breakfast or lunch) There are also plenty of great places at The Wharf if you don't want to venture too far, including *Hanks Oyster Bar and Colada Shop.
