We met like many of our millennial friends have, through the use of dating apps. Thankfully for us it wasn't a horror story to tell at brunch, but a relationship that began to grow.

Our first date was at barcade (Game Terminal) in Nashville on Oct 1st, 2021. Tanner looked so cute and was such a gentleman the whole night. We talked about politics, religion, and all the things they tell you not to talk about on a first date. At the end he walked Sammi to her car and we had our first kiss! Tanner asked me out that night to do brunch on Oct 3rd. It was pouring rain, and I think we looked at pumpkins and talked for around 3 hours. From there we had a few trips early on that were true tests of our relationship, including driving 18 hours together from CO back to TN after spending NYE there. Sammi says "Ask him this story, it's a personal favorite of mine".

The first couple months of our relationship went by fast. We said I love you three months in. Tanner continues to surprise me and make each day better and better, the occasional flowers aren't bad either.

Fast forward to 2022, Tanner bought a home in East Nashville and asked Sammi to move in with him that August. At this point Sammi had basically lived there for the months prior. The next May Tanner and Sammi went to Punta Cana for a week where Sammi was absolutely sure Tanner would propose. It turned out to be one of our favorite vacations we've had! The following November, Sammi was all but sure Tanner was planning to proposed in December.

Instead Tanner wanted to be sneaky and propose early. We walked into Cheekwood and it was deserted, all of the fall stuff was down, none of the Christmas stuff was up, and in Sammi's head she was thinking "okay this will still be fun!".

At one point Sammi was trying to follow her directions to another side of the park, and I was trying to get her to walk up to the arbor right behind us. After a little back and forth Sammi agreed to come Tanner's way. In Sammi's mind she thought there's no way that it's happening today but she thought that this would be a fun place to hold the wedding! Tanner walked up the stairs ready to propose to her and there were people all over the place setting up for a wedding. Tanner got nervous and started to move along. Sammi thought nothing of it.

We got down the steps and Tanner saw the gazebo that we had one of our first pictures in, and thought this is it. During this time Sammi's thinking nothing of this. Tanner pointed out the gazebo and Sammi went inside of it. This whole time Sammi was talking about the most random things, in Tanner's head he just thought "I'm really trying to do something here", how can Tanner interrupt or draw her attention. - Sammi said something along the lines of, "why don't we just get married". - It was at this time that Tanner popped down on one knee and said, "Well why don't we".

The last couple months have been filled with telling our family and friends and telling family and friends! We're very excited to have you all come and celebrate with us in the city we've come to call home, Nashville! We hope you love your time here as much as we have since we've moved to Music City.
