Public beach access and free parking at Stuart Beach. Beautiful white sand beach with clear Atlantic blue water. Lifeguards on duty.
Just down the road from Marriot hotel and Stuart Beach is the House of Refuge where Marc proposed to Taylor. The House of Refuge was designated as a haven for shipwrecked sailors and travelers along the sparsely populated Atlantic coastline of Florida since 1915. These houses were staffed by “keepers,” who, with their families, led solitary lives in order to find, rescue, and minister to those who fell victim to Florida’s treacherous reefs and shoals.
The best local surf shop with cute bathing suits, sunscreen, rental surf boards, and full of awesome people. Taylor worked for Ohana surf camp during summers growing up.
Amazing food truck in the same parking lot as Ohana surf shop. Owned by one of Taylors old friends Zach. A great place to pick up some local healthy bowls or smoothies after a beach day.
The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is a 57-acre marine life nature center located on Hutchinson Island in Stuart, FL situated between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean. A great place to take the kids for a day activity. The volunteer staff members are absolutely knowledgeable and friendly. You will get to learn about marine refugee sea turtles that have been injured by boats, stingrays, tons of fish and ocean life such as sea horses and much much more. Not only do they have interactive opportunities with these great creatures, but you can also walk for ACRES in their nature trail, and come across educational pit stops with facts and MORE little bugs and small creatures.
