If you're feeling active and want to get your feet moving and heart pumping. This 1.7 km trail will show you what East coast charm is all about.
Located on Water Street, in the Summer months you can walk the pedestrian mall, where theres lots of local vendors, and delicious restaurants. You can shop or sit on a patio for a beer but be sure to stop by Aunt Sarah's Chocolate Shop for some chocolate covered Jam Jams or ice cream!
If you like sunrise, then head to Cape Spear to watch the first sunrise in North America. Check out the lighthouse but be sure to dress appropriately. It's always blowin' a gale at Cape Spear, be careful not to lose your hat!
If you're up for a tour of the island, be sure to check out Bonavista/Port Rexton. About 3 hours outside of St. John's, this is a place we visit every time were home on the island.
Stay in a traditional salt box house and see all that rural Newfoundland has to offer. But make sure you don’t miss out on the Bonavista Social Club or a drink at Port Rexton Brewery and make sure you eat toutons for breakfast! And if you're up for an adventure, be sure to do the Skerwink Trail!
Be sure to go whale watching in St. John's, Bonavista, or Twilingate while you're on the island. Iceberg quest, or trinity eco tours are always a phenomenal experience. Be sure to try and spot a puffin!
In the heart of tragedy the residents of Gander opened their hearts and their homes to help those in need. Head up to the airport to check out the 9/11 exhibit or see the broadway show stationed in Gander, Come From Away.
A long drive from St. John's but well worth it. Check out Gros Morne for some of the best coastal/mountain views in the country. Be sure to hop on the Western Brook Pond Tour and if youre really wild, hike to the top.
Its a view you cannot beat.
