Things to Do

Places to Eat

D.C. is an amazing food city, and we have so many favorites. We have included some below.

Breakfast/Brunch

La Tejana - Breakfast tacos as good as any you'll find in Austin. A bit of a hike, but well worth it.

The Diner- Classic Diner in Adams Morgan open late night as well

Bagel's Etc.- Cash only, no frills bagel shop.

Ted's Bulletin- Upscale diner with great breakfast food served all day.

Lunch/Dinner

Le Diplomate- A D.C. classic and one of our favorites. The Mushroom Tart and Bread Basket are Taylor's Favorites. The Trout Almandine and Milk Chocolate pot de creme are Hunter's.

Franklin Hall- Casual digs for a beer and watching sports, around the corner from our first apartment together. The Chicken Tenders were a favorite late night meal of ours.

Duke's Grocery- Local favorite always in the conversation for D.C's best burger.

Al Volo Osteria- Our favorite Italian. Cozy. Large portions. Homemade pasta. Great vibes.

Gypsy Kitchen- Mediterranean small plates. Great cocktails.

Drinks

Maxwell Park- Crowd favorite wine bar. Rotating menu every month with fun themes with wines to match.

Aslin Brewing- Open air beer garden with a food truck and plenty of seating for a group.

Datcha- Another DC classic outdoor beer garden.

All Souls- Liquor forward cocktails. One of our favorite spots to go with our friends and chat into the late night hours.

Off the Record- D.C. Icon. Red Velvet chairs. Political caricature coasters. Feet from the White House. You'd be foolish to not get a martini.

Jane Jane - Aesthetic cocktail bar down the street from our first apartment.

Dessert

Thomas Sweet- Where it all began. Classic hard-scoop American ice cream.

Activities

We have so many memories exploring D.C. There is an activity for everyone. We love the monuments and the iconic views, but encourage you to explore a neighborhood and see D.C. beyond the surface.

Sight Seeing

The National Mall- We never got over how lucky we were to live just a short walk from such iconic sceneries.

We loved long walks and runs on the National Mall. One of our favorite activities was having picnics and taking in the scenery.
