Q + A

What's the weather like in the fall?

It's the perfect time of year! Usually by October, it is cooling down some, but still in the lower to mid 70s for the perfect temp. It can be warm during the day and still cool down at night so make sure you bring a sweatshirt or jacket! Humidity really isn't too big of a thing here. The breeze off the ocean really helps with the temperature!

What do I wear (for activities outside of wedding day)?!

You can never go wrong with shorts and a t-shirt, tank top and jeans, romper, dresses, etc. Dress like a normal "Midwest fall." I would definitely recommend to throw in a pair of jeans, a jacket and/or sweatshirt for at night or if you are near the water. San Diego has four mini climates so depending where you are could very well put you in a different season (seriously).

How's the water temperature?

It's COLD. The water is usually 65-68 degrees. Very different the the Florida waters a lot of our Midwestern people are used to.

Any wineries?

There are plenty! A lot of them are more in north county (Escondido and onward.) Escondido is about 40 minutes away from SD proper. Temecula (~1.5 hours away from SD proper) is FULL of wineries and they are all along one stretch of road. If you don't like one, just pop over to the next one!

What about craft breweries?

There are SO MANY. Stone, Eppig, Harland, Ballast Point, Karl Strauss. The list goes on and on. Just do a quick Google search!

What's that noise?

If you are staying in San Diego proper, you will most likely be in a flight path of either a normal plane or of a military plane. We are super close to a few bases, so there is constantly planes, helicopters flying and drills taking place. You may hear planes taking off up until 10:30pm.

What about my kids?

We love your kids! However, we would like to keep our wedding adults only, unless specifically stated on your wedding invitation. Take this time to enjoy a trip child free!

Can I bring a plus one?

If you are allotted a guest (this includes children), it will be notated on your invitation and you may RSVP for them. Otherwise, we please ask that you bring just yourself. If they are notated as "and guest", please reach out to Taylor with the name of the person you are bringing so proper signage can be made! We will not be able to extend a plus one to anyone else at this time.

What if I don't RSVP in time?

If we do not receive your RSVP by the date provided, it will be automatically marked as a "no." We will miss celebrating with you but is it imperative we provide our vendors with a final and accurate guest count within their given timeframe. Thank you for understanding!

Should I drive to the venue for wedding day?

You are welcome to drive to the venue as there is ample parking, but we please ask if you are partaking in our open bar to uber back to where you are staying! (Bonus points if you are staying in one of the hotels that are across the street from the venue and can walk. In that case, please walk back carefully). We want everyone to be safe but enjoy celebrating the night away!

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Yes! The ceremony and part of cocktail hour will be held outdoors so please plan accordingly. There will be a small portion of the indoor space opened at cocktail hour for guests to enjoy as well, prior to entering into the main reception space.

Can I take pictures/videos during the ceremony?

As mentioned on the home page, we are having an unplugged ceremony. Once the ceremony begins, we kindly ask for you to please silence all phones and put cameras away. We want everyone to be fully present with us and allow our wonderful photographer and videographer to capture the moments. We will happily share all of these moments with you! After the ceremony, please take as many photos and videos as you want (and share with the happy couple).

You are getting married on a golf course. Can we golf?

Of course! You are welcome to enjoy The Crossings! This course does offer golf rental as well. We encourage you to explore this beautiful course (and any others of San Diego) if you are planning an extended trip!

Where can I stay? Do you have a hotel block?

Unfortunately, the three hotels that are across the street from our venue do not have room blocks available. You are welcome to stay at one of these three hotels, other hotels, an AirBnB/Vrbo. These three hotels will absolutely be the most convenient as you can walk to the venue from the hotels and it would be a very short walk. Please see the "Travel" tab for more hotel information.

Are you registered?

We are! However, we do not expect gifts as your presence to our big day is TRULY the best gift you can give. We graciously accept any gifts given.

When can I fly in? Where do I fly into?

You are welcome to come in whenever you would like! Please feel free to make a trip out of our wedding weekend to explore the West Coast! You will fly into San Diego International Airport and then will have ~40 minute drive up to Carlsbad (if you are choosing to stay in Carlsbad the entire time). Pending how much exploring you do, renting a car may be a good option. However, Uber/Lyft's are usually plentiful.
