Alex moved to Dallas, TX after attending college at Purdue University. Taylor attended college at the University of Texas and then moved back to Dallas, where she grew up. They met through mutual friends over cocktails in 2017 and slowly became acquaintances, despite Taylor's initial interest in Alex. During the summer of 2018, they connected on a dating app, but the conversation was short-lived because of crazy work schedules (or as Alex likes to tell the story - Taylor ghosted him). In the fall of 2018, after a long week of work, a Texas football loss, and a fun night at the bars, there was no turning back! The couple went on their first date on November 2, 2018 and shared their love of travel on several spectacular trips throughout their relationship.
After two years of dating, Alex proposed on November 15, 2020. That afternoon, Taylor came home to a bottle of champagne and a Bachelor-style date card which read, "Let's drive away and remember yesterday." Alex picked her up in a convertible and whisked her around Dallas to sentimental locations including where they first met, the bar and restaurant they went to for their first date, their favorite restaurant, and where he first knew she loved him. The trip ended at a beautiful botanical garden where he got on one knee and popped the question. She said yes! They spent the night celebrating with both of their families and friends. The following weekend, Taylor and Alex continued the celebration with excellent wine and food in Napa Valley, one of their favorite destinations.
