Our love story starts on the famous dating app Hinge, where it was love at first swipe. On Hinge, users answer prompts to showcase their personality. One of Kara’s mentioned her worst fear was marrying into a family that runs 5Ks on Thanksgiving. Taylor responded that she wouldn’t have to worry about that with him and his family, and thankfully, he’s stayed true to his word!
We went on our first date on March 11th, 2024, and made it official on April 6th. From the very beginning, we both felt something special. Taylor had bought a townhouse in 2021, and Kara had just purchased her condo when we met, so for the first year of dating, we rotated between the two places every. single. night.
After just two months, we never spent a night apart. (When you know, you know!) That back-and-forth chapter finally ended when we moved in together at Kara’s condo in March 2025 and we've been saving a lot on gas ever since.
On May 3, 2025, Taylor asked Kara to marry him at Six Mile Cypress Slough in Fort Myers. When it was just the two of us in the back by ourselves, Taylor got down on one knee and asked Kara to marry him. He didn’t even know at the time that all the old birdwatchers called the spot “Grandmother Tree”, but apparently it’s well known in the birdwatching community.
We can't wait to celebrate our wedding with you on May 2nd, 2026, in Orlando, Florida at the Black Barn. Orlando is a special place for us, We’re so excited to celebrate with all of our favorite people in one of our favorite cities!
