Our Wedding

Like many millennials these days, we found each other on a dating app (thanks, Bumble!). Our first date was in December of 2024 at a coffee shop in downtown Boulder. We left that date feeling excited about each other and our connection, but then Matt went out of town for the holidays (big mistake). We had planned a second date for when he got back, but while he was away, Tessa went on a few more dates. Just as Matt was getting ready to come home to Denver, Tessa canceled their second date so she could check out a connection with someone else. Matt was very disappointed, but he was also extremely kind about the whole situation. We then entered a period that we jokingly call our "break." A couple of months later, after Tessa realized she had made a (huge) mistake, she reached back out to Matt, nervous that he might not reply. She asked if he was still interested in going on a second date and was delighted to hear that he was excited to meet up again. A few days later, we had what we call our "second first date." Over dinner and ice cream, we realized that our connection was really something quite special. And we've been together ever since! We feel incredibly lucky that life brought us back together, as we both almost missed out on the best life partner we could have asked for! In February of this year, Matt surprised Tessa with the most amazing proposal at the top of the historic Daniels &amp; Fisher Tower (pictured above) in downtown Denver. We are so excited to do life together!

Traveling to Boulder

The nearest airport is Denver International Airport, which is about 45 minutes away from Boulder. While it is technically possible to get from the airport to Boulder via bus, it is strongly recommended that you rent a car, as getting around to the wedding events will be difficult without one. PLEASE NOTE: Parking at our ceremony venue is VERY limited, so we are asking people to plan to carpool there with as many people as possible.

Lodging

We have reserved blocks at three hotels (below) in the Boulder area, however, be sure to look at Airbnb and VRBO as you may be able to find cheaper options! We would recommend staying in Boulder, Gunbarrel, Superior, or Louisville. Lafayette and Broomfield are also good options that may be cheaper, but they are about 20-30 mins from Boulder.

Perched against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, this striking scientific campus is both an architectural landmark and a fun, educational outing for curious visitors. Designed by famed architect I.M. Pei, the Mesa Lab houses a public Visitor Center full of hands-on exhibits about weather, climate, the Earth and Sun, and atmospheric science — and admission is free! CHECK IF VISITOR CENTER IS OPEN BEFORE YOU GO SINCE NCAR'S FATE IS UNCERTAIN RIGHT NOW. NCAR is also the starting point of many different hiking trails of varying levels of difficulty. The parking lot offers amazing views of Boulder!

Chautauqua Park

One of Boulder’s most beloved outdoor destinations, Chautauqua sits at the base of the iconic Flatirons and blends stunning natural beauty with relaxed Colorado charm. It’s a perfect spot to stretch your legs and enjoy the views — whether you’re picnicking on the lush lawn, wandering the paths, or heading out on one of the many hiking trails that radiate up into the foothills.

Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory Tour

A quirky and sensory-rich stop in Boulder that’s perfect for tea lovers and curious travelers alike! The 29th Street Mall

This bright, walkable, outdoor mall features a mix of local favorites and popular brands, a movie theater, plus plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. With stores ranging from fashion and accessories to tech and beauty, it’s a great place to wander and shop.

Boulder and the surrounding areas are full of hiking/walking trails, with options for both easy and challenging hikes.
