Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Eric and I met in college at Michigan State University (GO GREEN!) He was a junior and I was a freshman. It wasn't until the summer after we met that our love story began. Let's take it back to Summer of 2014.

Eric was living in Coldwater, MI that summer and would pick me up EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND from East Lansing so that we could spend the weekend together. After a few months, he finally asked me to be his girlfriend and we were getting ready for school to start. We became best friends - going to football games, creating music together, working out together, and cooking (on a budget of course, we mastered Ramen noodles lol). We were young and in-love, not knowing what our future held but we were eachother's biggest supporters.

Fast forward 3 years in 2017 - Eric landed a job in Detroit with the Red Wings and I was finishing my senior year of college. Eric found an apartment in Detroit, and after I graduated we moved in together and continued our journey. We fell in love with the City of Detroit, going to concerts, sporting events, finding coffee shops and new restaurants to try out, and often just taking walks around West Village. We knew Detroit was our home. We found a second apartment which was next door from our first apartment, and after a few years of renting we decided that it was time to start saving for a home of our own.

Two years after moving into our second Detroit apartment, we finally saved enough money and found our first home, in Detroit of course. We were so excited to experience home ownership and have a place to call ours. We moved in to our home on the first day of 2021 - not knowing what the heck we were doing, but with every obstacle that came our way we figured it out together.

8 months after moving in, we decided it was time to add a dog to the family. We found Belle the Bernedoodle (named after Belle Isle) and couldn't wait until we could bring her home with us. A few weeks after picking out our pup, we were getting ready to celebrate our 7 year anniversary together. Boy, was I not ready for the surprise of a lifetime.

On our 7 year anniversary, we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Detroit, Grey Ghost. We celebrated most of our anniversaries at this place and after dinner would pack up a picnic basket and blanket and head to Belle Isle to watch the sunset. On this particular day, Belle Isle had closed but the park right next to it was open - so we were heading there to enjoy our cozy picnic and sunset. Little did I know, this was about to become one of my most cherished days.

As we were walking up to the park, Eric pointed me in the direction of a tent and a crowd of people (I couldn't see who the people were, and had no idea why we were walking towards them). Our song was also playing and I thought wow, what a coincidence. The closer we got, I started to see the faces of our best friends and I couldn't believe it. Eric asked me to marry him that day, it was absolutely perfect and a day that I will never forget.

Our story is still be written, but we are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together as husband and wife. Get ready to Meet The Morrows. Getting married in the city we love most is so special to us and we cant wait to celebrate with all of you :)
