The Runnymede comes highly reviewed from locals, including Tim's parents who stayed there on a recent trip. It backs up to the River Thames and has an outdoor pool, restaurant, free parking, and a complimentary daily shuttle into Windsor. It's also very easy to get to by car/taxi from Heathrow airport. We will provide transportation to the Little Dower House for the wedding day.
The Runnymede is re-branding as a Warner Leisure Hotel in 2024. Unfortunately, this means that it will become adults only so anyone vacationing with their little ones (<18) won't be able to stay here for our wedding. See more details on other places in the sections below.
The rates for our wedding are as follows and include daily full breakfast, service, and tax.
Single room, non-riverside single occupancy £125.00
Standard double room, non-riverside single occupancy £125.00 double occupancy £135.00
Standard double room, riverside view single occupancy £145.00 double occupancy £155.00
Superior double room, non-riverside single occupancy £165.00 double occupancy £175.00
Deluxe double room, riverside view single occupancy £205.00 double occupancy £215.00
Note that the prices vary based on single/double occupancy. To use our rate you will need to book via email/phone. To save some time, here is a sample email you can send to
reservations@therunnymede.co.uk. They will send you an invoice to pay or have you pay upon check-in. Be sure to change the room type/occupancy to what you would like, and feel free to stay for more or less time. Please email us (davison.timf@gmail.com) if you don't hear back within a few days.
Hello,
Can I please book a standard double room non-riverside double occupancy for June 28 2024 to July 1 2024 in the block held under ‘Tim Davison & Julia Russell Offsite Wedding' with code ‘TIMS280624’
Thank you
There are a few other hotels in the area that are <15 minutes from the Little Dower House.
De Vere Beaumont Estate https://www.devere.co.uk/beaumont-estate
Great Fosters https://alexanderhotels.co.uk/great-fosters
Fairmont Windsor Park https://www.fairmont-windsorpark.com/
There are a few other hotels in Windsor like Goswell House (https://www.goswellhouse.co.uk/) that we'd recommend if you want to stay in Windsor.
There are also a lot of AirBnBs in the area. Tim's family has used accommodation windsor (https://accommodation-windsor.co.uk/) in the past to book longer stays. If you plan to stay in Windsor for a week or so with a group that is another good option.
What airport should I fly to?
London Heathrow (LHR) is about a 15 minute drive from Old Windsor, so that would be the ideal place to arrive. London Gatwick is about a 45 minute drive, so is doable if you plan to rent a car.
When should I book my flights?
The answer depends. For most cases, the right time to book an international flight is about 3/4 months in advance. The exception is if you are using miles you should book as soon as possible. For example, if you live near somewhere that British Airways (JFK, AUS, PHL, BOS, DEN) or Virgin Atlantic (ATL, IAD, AUS) flies direct to/from LHR, you can look now to see if you can get a reward seat. Capital One, AMEX, and Chase all transfer to Avios (British Airways) and Virgin Atlantic flying club. Feel free to email Tim (davison.timf@gmail.com) with any questions you might have on this topic!
