Our Wedding

How did we meet?✦&nbsp;✦&nbsp;✦The short answer is Bumble, a dating app. The longer answer is way more fun. Tim and I had been messaging each other for a few days. I swiped right because his profile had a picture of him dressed as Bernie Sanders and I thought he was short. Tim swiped right because I'm hot. We messaged back and forth for a few days and planned a date for a Tuesday night at the bar Halcyon on Greenville. I ended up having car trouble and had to reschedule for Friday, which Tim was more than accommodating about. On Tuesday when we would have had our date originally, I took the DART train to work for the first and only time. (East Dallas to Grapevine was an hour long train ride and a 25 minute Uber.) At the Mockingbird station, I looked up and saw a man in a purple gingham shirt reading a book. "Damn," I thought. "If only I took the DART more often, I could meet someone handsome like that." It was Tim, the man I had a date with on Friday, who I would become engaged to 5 years later.

Arrival Time

The ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 PM. Please plan to arrive at 5:30 PM to avoid delays.

Location

The ceremony will take place on the lawn in front of the fountain at the Texas Discovery Gardens.

Parking

If you aren't ride-sharing to the event, please enter through Gate 6 and immediately turn right to park in lot 6B. You may enter through the garden gate across the street to find the ceremony.

Nearest Airport

If you're joining us from out of town and have a choice of which airport to fly into, we recommend Dallas Love Field! It's much smaller and easier to navigate than DFW and it's actually in Dallas.

Dallas Love Field

A lovely historic hotel in our neighborhood of Oak Lawn! It's around the corner from a thriving night life and excellent restaurants. We currently have a limited block of rooms available at the discounted rate, so call early to book your room. Guests are also welcome to stay in town with family, friends, or find other accommodations! Our feelings won't be hurt.

$$Elephant is an amazing Indian restaurant that opened up in a former diner. The vibes? Immaculate. The food? To die for. This restaurant shares a parking lot with the Quality Inn behind it, so no need to stress about where to leave your car!

Elephant Indian Bar & Grill

$ Our favorite coffee place just a few blocks from our condo! A prolific nonprofit, this cafe is a pillar of the community. You can find us here every Saturday morning with Ramona and at a lot of events they throw.

Union Coffee

$$$A sushi restaurant near our old apartment! Limited seating and a boutique dining experience. Well worth the wait (and the price) to dine here and watch the chefs prepare your food. We recommend calling ahead.

Naminohana

$Pronounced "sh-oo-gz" for all of you Yankees. A local Dallas bagel spot that we would put head-to-head with a New York bagel. Tim brings these into his office every other Friday to share with his coworkers

Shug's Bagels

$$The best ramen in Dallas, and it isn't even a competition. Standing room only and feet from the stoves, you'll leave this place sweating and you'll thank us for it.

TEN Ramen

$$If it seems like we're recommending a lot of places in our neighborhood, it's only because we live in a Dallas food hub. A former food truck, they opened the doors to their new location in 2024 to bring Veracruz Mexican food to Oak Lawn. This is where we eat to celebrate together.
